   This was our first time dining at the Hunt Room at the Cavalier Hotel. We were celebrating our 32nd Wedding Anniversary. We both enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, especially admiring the large fireplace. We both ordered the Filet Mignon dinner and they were both cooked perfectly and seasoned just as well (I didn't even really need the side of steak sauce with mine). The staff was casual, but very professional. I think we found a new favorite local place to enjoy.

   Our waitress Casey was amazing right from the start, the salmon is absolutely to die for when it’s available as the catch of the day. Meghan the restaurant manager checked on us at the end of service to see how everything was and that was great because you don’t see that at a lot of places. I felt welcome. That’s the difference between service and hospitality.

   Good food, server Billy did a nice job, lively crowd in di ing room and interesting decor.

   very nice place to eat. Good food. However, they do not know how to make Irish coffee.

   The food was awesome. Waiter was great! Ambience was great until it got loud. Could do with some more noise absorbing decor.

   I've visited this restaurant many times, and the food, especially the risotto has always been very good. It's typically been cooked to perfection, with lots of cheese. This was an off night, there was no indication of cheese, but more like a cream sauce - very disappointed.

   The Hunt Room serves up a generous dose of Tidewater favorites coupled with extraordinary service. Its relaxing atmosphere provides a great place to unwind whether you’ve spent a day on the beach or in a business meeting. Our server Angelina is truly the best and is passionate about ensuring that her customer’s experience a one of a kind culinary adventure.

   The service was better this time but the kitchen is still very slow. It was surprising to find that the oyster stew did not contain any oysters. Their explanation was that there were oysters blended into the broth. This was the first time I was served oyster stew and was unable to find a single oyster in it.
