   The place had a great low light atmosphere. The seating and tables were great and enough space for 4. The food tasted great, and the waiting time was only around 10 minutes. However, the food cost is quite high considering the portion sizes.

   Pork katsu was a bit dry but wagyu so tender and unagi set was delicious and great value too

   We chose a Japanese restaurant - Ichi Katsu Glen Waverley. We were treated in a very friendly and courteous manner and shown our table almost immediately. So far, excellent! But then things dipped a little when the lovely waiter suggested we browse the on-line menu on our phones, which was newer than the paper menu. My husband chose wagyu steak in udon noodle soup. My son chose the chicken karaage don, which was marinated, lightly battered deep fried chicken served on rice and sauce. I chose the braised minced pork with dried shitake mushroom served with onsen on rice. Both were served with salad and three different types of pickle. My son also ordered a bowl of truffle fries for us to share, which was delicious! However, my husband's steak was tasteless and mushy, and the noodles were also tasteless. 🙁 My son didn't like his chicken 🙁 whereas I liked it 🙂 so we swapped his chicken for my pork mince. I had a fairly good meal, but my hubby and son didn't. I suppose I didn't choose the restaurant carefully enough, as Ichi Katsu is a Tonkatsu specialist making all-things-fried and Izakaya-inspired bites that deliver enjoyment to those who like that sort of food. We love Japanese food, but we didn't love the sort of food this restaurant makes. We did like our drinks, though - Coke Zero, a berry mocktail and Yuzu low-cal drink.

   Incredible lunch. Food high quality. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a great feed at a very great price.
