   Food was excellent and for those for whom it matters like me, the food temperature was nice and hot. I’m not sure if it’s just me but lately, the food I’ve been ordering at other restaurants have come out tepid, which I hate. We ordered the shrimp for our appetizer which was delicious. Those tomato’s and the sauce was so delicious. We ordered more bread to sop up all that sauce. The pasta dishes too were delicious and servings quite generous. We both took half of our dishes home, which we ate for lunch. The only slightly awkward thing was the older gentleman on the keyboard playing and singing in the background. It was just a bit odd and felt like a performance for a retirement home. Oh and the bread rolls were just amazing… warm, crunchy on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside. The food selection too was incredible. We will return!

   Great food but not a French restaurant. It’s Italian food.

But you are right, there is a heavier concentration of Italian dishes, particularly if you combine what's on the regular menu and on the specials.    Another perfect dining experience at Idylwood Grill. No matter what day we have gone there to eat, everything is great (food, service and atmosphere). The staff is always attentive, the food is flavorful and portions are generous. We highly recommend it if you're looking for a nice, local, family-owned restaurant. One of those hidden gems you look for in every city. This is the hidden gem in Falls Church, VA.

   Had 2 great meals here in a row. Good wine selection, and both times everyone enjoyed their dinners. Friendly service. Hidden gem in the Falls Church area.

   The food was excellent. We had the filet mignon and frites, the veal picatta with mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes, and the seafood linguine. All of them were delicious, the steak tender and cooked perfectly to order, the meal also tender and a large portion, and the seafood linguine was loaded with seafood! The desserts are all homemade and although delicious and a good size, they were cotton heavy after a big meal. They have an extensive wine list and a full bar. All of this in a modest venue with a casual atmosphere. A neighborhood gem!

   Restaurant was very busy, and it seemed like the kitchen was overwhelmed. Appetizers took forever to come out. Menu had something for everyone and most of it was outstanding (except the filet mignon). Price was reasonable for the quality. Atmosphere was festive.

Mother's Day weekend was definitely busy and we apologize if the food took a little longer than usual. We prepare everything from scratch, down to the sauces we pair with our food.     Excellent all the way around from appetizers to dessert. Server was awesome. Food came out exactly as ordered. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to eat.
