Italian by Night is an urban Italian restaurant and bar with a cuisine focused on old world techniques in a modern kitchen.

A romantic Italian restaurant in Uptown Saint John with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is a mix of rustic exposed brick and wood beams, as well as elegant touches like linen tablecloths, fresh flowers and candles on the tables.

The menu offers a wide variety of Italian dishes, ranging from classic favorites like pizza and pasta to more upscale options like seafood, steaks, and excellent wine list. We use fresh ingredients, with a focus on high-quality flavors and presentation.

We offer corporate and wedding buyouts in a gorgeous venue with ample seating and layout, excellent food, attentive service, and a memorable atmosphere that is perfect for any special occasion. A personalized menu and experience will reflect your unique tastes and preferences.

We offer a private dining room for smaller groups.

We are happy to work with our clients for both small or large private events at Italian by NIght. We offer restaurant 'buy-out' packages as well as smaller group event menus. Our beautiful open space concept can host up to 183 guests in a stand-up cocktail reception format or 120 guests for a seated dining experience. Hosting corporate, wedding or family events is our expertise. We welcome all inquiries.

We’ve been making this restaurant our date night spot every week for the past 8 years, and it never disappoints. Jessie and Rob at the bar always greet us with warmth and a smile, making every visit feel like a special occasion. Dorothy goes above and beyond to make us feel like family, remembering our preferences and adding that personal touch that keeps us coming back. The food is consistently amazing, and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed, memorable night out. Every detail is taken care of, and we always leave looking forward to the next week. Truly a gem in the city!

This restaurant is singularly great. A real gem...last night's dishes were no exception. Our choices were spot on and the wait staff were perfect.

A wonderful nite with my office staff. Beautiful restaurant with great ambience, & attentive , friendly wait , bussing ,and host staff. Best fresh salmon/ shrimp / veggies dish anywhere in the Maritimes. My staff loved their chicken parm/ Alfredo sauce as usual. Very good wine & drink offerings . Desserts such as the chocolate tort are fantastic! The white linen tablecloths / napkins & silverware such a nice touch.

The crowd was boisterous so hearing my dining companions was a bit of a challenge when we were first seated. However, as some of the neighbouring tables finished the noise level lowered. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. The food was excellent. With the minor exception of the sorbets. They were a bit disappointing for my expectations and taste. But the bite of tiramisu I had from my daughter’s plate was amazing.

Everything was good . Music choice could have been adapt for a fine cuisine restaurant . Wine choice was excellent . Food was excellent also .

Best place to go for a special occasion. Our server, Emily was so nice and helpful. We had complementary drinks for it was our anniversary. Always ask about their special dinner, it never disappoints.

Our first time and definitely not our last. We were excited about dining here after reading great reviews and it did not disappoint. We enjoyed the seasonal cocktail and started with a pepperoni pizza. Our mains were seafood pasta and the evening’s feature, beef tenderloin. Both were excellent, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. It’s really easy to overcook seafood and we like our beef rare, which is hardly ever done right. The kitchen was spot on. The sear on the scallops was gorgeous, and the scallops tender and juicy. We enjoyed our desserts — tiramisu and affogato. With an additional glass of wine, the bill came to about $200. Very engaging server who checked in appropriately often enough and made us feel comfortable and relaxed. We visited from Nova Scotia and it was worth the 4-hour drive. Already looking forward to our next visit to Saint John to dine here again.
