   The restaurant has expanded a lot since the last time we dined at JB Hooks. It’s nice to be allowed to enjoy a unrushed dining experience, however the server was pretty slow. Food was phenomenal. A little pricey, but worth it.

   Third time in a row I have left utterly disappointed with the quality of the food and experience. JB Hook’s was once a quality dining experience. For the price, I expect to receive top quality food. I think I will spend my money elsewhere. My ribeye was almost as tough as beef jerky. It was difficult cut and chew. USDA Choice from Wal-Mart on my grill at home is much higher quality and costs much less. Since they put the addition on, the focus seems to be on pushing people through for profit rather than delivering the quality food and experience for which they were once known. On a positive note, they still have some of the best sunsets on the lake.

   Our experience was PERFECT! Better than we could have expected! From the perfect level of background music, the single rose given to the ladies, the beautiful table settings, friendly staff and views!! Exactly what we were looking for in a dining experience!

   I proposed to my soon to be wife at JB Hooks and have dined every Valentine's Day there for the last 12 yrs. She has been greeted with a single rose each year. They always have a Valentine dinner special or order off the menu. Either way, you both recieve a glass of champaine and desert. Your surrounded by windows over looking Lake of the Ozarks and even at night, you have the lights dancing off the off, which makes it even more special. The owner, checks in with each table to make sure your experience is a good one. He doesn't linger but will certainly hold a conversation with you, like you are a VIP.

    This was a fabulous night! The valentines special was delicious. The ambience was very nice. We will definitely be back.
