Joe’s Crab Shack offers a variety of favorites from all parts of the sea and shore. From its extensive menu, guests can choose from buckets of seasonal seafood, fried shrimp platters and fish dishes, as well as options from the “mainland” that include steak, sandwiches, and chicken. Guests can indulge in over-sized and creative cocktails, such as the Shark Bite which is playfully garnished with a shark toy. Since its inception, Joe’s popularity has stemmed not only from its menu, but also its retail store. With various pieces of merchandise for purchase, including the ever-popular tie-dye T-shirt with the phrase “Peace, Love and Crabs,” Joe’s has become synonymous with the word “fun.”

Fun and lively place with outstanding sunset view on the Sacramento river. We waited at the bar for a window table. Cocktail selections were all very sweet- nothing sophisticated- but the margaritas were tasty and made well. The hostess texted when the table was ready, then gave up our table when I didn’t respond within 3 minutes. But they gave us the next open window table. Service was good at the table. Food came out timely. The crab legs were cold, but the shells weren't soft so it cracked well. The shrimp was rubbery. My steak was dry. Potatoes were soupy and the broccoli was overcooked. All the flavors were good, though. The breaded shrimp and fish were ok, but everything was lukewarm. The second round of drinks weren't made as well. Entrees were about $40 each and poorly executed. The sugar-bomb cocktails were about $10 each. It’s a good place to have a good time with good service. Just keep the expectations low for the kitchen.

Our server was Beto, he was an amazing server. We had great service and a nice meal.

Joe’s Crab Shack is not what it used to be. Food was poorly made, everything we had felt like it was ether under cooked or had been sitting all day. Fish was super mushy, crab was hands down the worst crab I have ever had super dry with no flavor. Service was okay they definitely could use more help. Best part of Joe’s Crab Shack would have to be the outdoor patio view.

It's a very fun place! The drinks were delicious and the food was great with the exception of the broiled shrimp and the crab being a little overcooked and dry.

What a joke! My son ordered the steak, shrimp and crab plate. He broke open the crab legs and there wasn’t any crab meat in it at all. Combines was maybe 1 tablespoon of crab. Never going there again.

Terrible food, this place has gone downhill over the years. The crab tasted old and freezer burnt, all of our boils were cold, flavorless , like eating fishy water. We were told twice that we had to order something else because they were out. Im not sure how your niche is crab but your running out, mind you this is @630 not the end of the night. Very disappointing and dissatisfying.

Server was attentive and cheerful yet Very Disappointed! All my seafood was extremely DRY and asparagus was old as well as stringy. Reserved quiet, private table and was placed near Server Station near heavy traffic pattern; route to bathroom and connection of lobby to majority of the seating. Noted feedback on receipt and will Highly Recommend everyone Avoid the Awful Experience as there are SO Many Options for a Lovely Time.

Had a blast for Mother’s Day. Sat outside right above the river. So scenic and we all did the YMCA with most of the other patrons!! Very lively and fun atmosphere! Beto was a wonderful waiter and quite friendly!! The only negative was the bus service seemed very slow….
