                                            The lamb was cooked and prepared beautifully. Tha salmon was delicious as well as the seafood soup.

                                            One person in our party could not cut through his steak. It had the consistency of rubber. Another got a salad with shrimp. The shrimp just came off the boat. They were raw. I got Mahi mahi which was tasty but the rice was cold. We ordered a side of fries and they came out before any food so when the other food arrived, they were cold. We were so dissatisfied and probably will not be returning.

                                            The restaurant is well appointed and we were seated immediately. The server was pleasant but not attentive. The entrée was excellent. The server did not return to check back after food arrived from food runner or to refill our drinks and the desert took 25 minutes to get to us. The bill was incorrect but we didn't want to have to wait any longer and paying took another 15-20 minutes. Overall, the food was really good but the service was meh.

                                            The he waitstaff was courteous and kind. The food tasted like it should be served in an elementary school cafeteria. I’ve stayed at so many Marriott’s and eaten at many, but this food was thé worst. We had the grilled chicken, mashed potatoes and broccolini. Bland and boring. They are really missing an opportunity.

                                            Had dinner here once before, and we'll be back. The Marriott Downtown is a perfect overnight when attending Jax Symphony across the street.

                                            It was a rough start. There was no heat in the restaurant and it was very cold. Had to eat with our jackets on. We ordered drinks. Two of us ordered hot chocolate, one with Baileys, one of our group ordered a cocktail, and the other ordered coffee with Kahlua. The cocktail arrived rather quickly along with a Baileys and a Kahlua. No hot chocolate or coffee. The hot chocolate arrived and it was lukewarm. Still no coffee. Had to ask for a spoon. Hot chocolate was replaced and was finally hot. Coffee also finally arrived. We place our food order. The server was a little curt with us. None of this was our doing. Food arrived. Two short rib dinners, grilled Mahi and a hamburger. All were delicious! Server was cordial again. Will return as the food was excellent and hopefully they get their heat fixed.

                                            When we arrived there were very few people at the restaurant (2:30 p.m.). The manager indicated we could not sit in the atrium because the bartender was the only server and it would be easier on him not to have to go beyond the seating area closer to the bar. At first, that was a bit annoying because the atrium is nicer and the manager was accommodating his employee over his customer. This proved to be a very positive visit, however. With such a little staff, we were concerned about the kitchen staffing, but our meal was wonderful. The best house made minestrone we have had, and David, the bartender and server, was efficient, friendly, and gave great meal suggestions. Our sandwich choices were very tasty, and the presentation of our shared wedge salad was delicious. We have been frequenting this restaurant for many years when it was part of the Omni chain, and it does not disappoint now that the hotel has changed to Marriott.
