In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. We take pride in being the only local seafood restaurant on the island that brings fresh fish straight from the boat and to your table.

                                                                    Very attentive wait staff. Chef even came out to reassure our one friend with seafood allergy would be taken care of and her needs would be accommodated. Above and beyond service!

                                                                    Our experience was absolutely wonderful. I took my parents here to celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary. We were quickly seated. Our server Dee was spectacular. She was very knowledgeable about the menu, gave great recommendations and everything was as she said. She was very sweet and attentive. Service was fast. The food was sooooo good. We had the snapper wings and shrimp queso to start. Fish and shrimp platter was great, shrimp fettuccine great, my dad had a sizzling platter that was amazing! 10/10 recommend. The only downside was the parking. I didn’t look it up before hand. I ended up paying $17 to park in a lot that was only one way in when I think I didn’t need to pay because I could have parked elsewhere.

                                                                    We always make it a priority to visit Katie’s while in Galveston, the food is top tier, staff go above and beyond even with a line out the door, they have grade A customer service and wait time from ordering to receiving your order is very minimal.

                                                                    Sweet, perfectly cooked fried shrimp and the BEST hush puppies on the planet. My son devoured his crab claws. Great service and gorgeous as always in the patio.

                                                                    Hello! It was my first time going. Food was great but it took longer than expected. Service was a little slow. We decided to sit outside great weather but it was a tad chilly. We did sit next to a heater but heater was not working. Celebrated my brothers birthday. Great crab corn chowder and fresh seafood.

                                                                    Consistently a great seafood place when visiting Galveston. The fish is fresh, the menu is varied in how it can be prepped, and the servers have great recommendations. Try the garlic cheese toast to start off, grab some gumbo and get a Galveston bake of the fish of your choice.
