Located next to a beautiful beach, we are a vibrant and cozy place to enjoy modern Japanese cuisine from our enthusiastic and companionable team members.

We accept reservations online for up to 6 guests, with a seating time of 2 hours. We encourage guests after a reservation for 1-6 diners to make their bookings online. 15 minutes grace time to all bookings. Please note that our online booking system reflects real time availability at the restaurant.

For groups of 7 guests or more, please contact our reservations team on 0411 306 208 or info@kicho.com.au. Please note that groups of 7+ guests are required to dine on a set menu.

We take enquires for large group booking or catering requirements.

Dietary requirements are welcome and can be accommodated with advance notice. We recommend you let us know at the time of booking to ensure we can meet your needs.

Kicho is bayside's hidden gem, nestled in the culinary dessert of Black Rock village. Always wonderful high quality hand crafted food, great cocktails, amazing value for money and a vibrant atmosphere. Our favourite place to eat. We are delighted to have you in our home town.

City quality food but at affordable prices. Had the $59 6 course menu. The presentation and taste of each course is next level!

Food was amazing and service was excellent! This was a birthday treat for my 94yo mother’s birthday and her 1st experience of Japanese food. I popped a special request in my booking to ask for a banquette so my mother could sit comfortably. I was so impressed by the kindness our waitress showed in setting up 2 tables so my mother could choose which table would be most comfortable for her - even offering to close a window (at their very popular street view seats) if she got too cold - will definitely be going back and telling all our friends to go too!! Thank you for making it a beautiful experience!

Food was good but not exceptional. Service was excellent. The menu was explained I great detail. Drinks were expensive. Paul Louis brut blanc de blancs was listed at $73 per bottle on the menu. A somewhat massive mark up, as it can be bought at just under $20 per bottle. Having said that, we still had an enjoyable evening.
