Located in the heart of Coral Gables, Kojin serves modern American cuisine with a Japanese twist. Helmed by Chefs Pedro & Katherine Mederos, Kojin offers an elevated dining experience and extensive menu, including a variety of flame-grilled dishes and fresh seafood, prepared using innovative culinary techniques.
Building on the success of the chefs' first restaurant which entered the Michelin Guide for two consecutive years, Kojin aims to serve guests the highest-quality ingredients at their peak seasonality and freshness, whether that means sourcing produce from local Florida farmers or importing ingredients from Japan.
Kojin's warm, stylish ambiance centers around its open kitchen where you can see the chefs at work. Kojin is available for private events upon request. Whatever the occasion, Chefs Pedro and Katherine hope to make you feel right at home at Kojin.

Our Chef's Counter Experience is our most wide-ranging menu and offers you the exclusive experience of sitting at the Chef's Counter, with a bird’s-eye view into the kitchen. I appreciate the ambition behind Kōjin’s approach, and while some of the flavors and presentations were innovative, the execution didn’t quite deliver for me. The eight-course Valentine’s Day tasting menu was beautifully plated, but unfortunately, most of the dishes—aside from the hamachi sashimi (course two)—were over-seasoned, with an overwhelming saltiness. The excessive salt seemed to dull the other elements rather than enhance them, making the flavors feel less balanced and more one-dimensional. That said, service was excellent, especially on such a busy night, and the wines and sakes were truly enjoyable. I just wish the food had tasted half as good as it looked.

Highly original, beautifully prepared food--truly Michelin quality, with service to match. One dish was more imaginative than the next. Our party of six--all foodies who have traveled the world—rank it among our best meals. While Japanese inspired, the chef puts a modern spin on each dish. The price is very reasonable for the quality. This restaurant is an absolute gem--one of Miami's very best.

Nice restaurant with excellent food and very good service, but not a big variety of choices for main dishes ( just 3 ) nor for beers ( just 3 ), still I would recommend it 👌🏻

A phenomenal food and wine experience from the second you walk into the door to when you’re leaving . The food and wine knowledge of the staff, as well as the attention to detail in every course is just outstanding.

As always, Chef Pedro gets better and better. This meal was the special one-day Chinese New Year dinner - exceptional and very nice variety of dishes. Extremely recommended!!

Best food and restaurant in Miami. Each dish is unique and lovingly crafted to be delicious. Recommend both a la carte and tasting menu options. Come hungry for the tasting menu- best one in Miami.

Absolutely loved our experience at Kojin! Ashley took amazing care of us and was so fun, personable, and well versed with the menu. Their menu is unique and she was so helpful in tailoring an order for our group. My favorites were the Caesar salad, THE BREAD SERVICE, and the Maitake. Would want to try the short rib the next time I go !

The ambiance and decorations of the restaurant were very nice and welcoming. The service was great. But the food was a disappointment, flavors were bland in some dishes which did not match the quality and price represented. Mainly the food was nothing to remember and the pricing was outrageous!!! We paid over $200 for two people and only got the Small tasting menu for one person and an appetizer and halibut main course for the other person. The value was just not there.
