KONA Steak & Seafood was voted the "Best New Restaurant" winner on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula for 2023. Located in the popular Del Monte Shopping Center in Monterey, just minutes from Carmel, Pacific Grove, & all Peninsula cities.
A fabulous menu! Enjoy fresh seafood, lobster, Hawaiian loco moco, fresh ahi tuna, a great bacon cheeseburger, bone-in rib eye, miso-glazed seabass, filet mignon, macadamia nut crusted halibut, entree salads, cioppino, seafood pasta, Maui onion soup, coconut curry soup, and a large host of enticing appetizers. Enjoy KONA's generous portions, good value, & free abundant parking! The house baked desserts are worth a trip on their own..... incredible!! The gorgeous "ZenDen Bar" features full bar & "Tiki Bar" style concoctions curated with house made ingredients, and nightly Happy Hour from 3:00-9:00pm. Local wine list, craft draft beers, kid's menu, dog-friendly lanai/patio dining, continuous lunch & dinner service 7 days a week from 11:00am.

    We came for our anniversary dinner and ordered some appetizers. We had the Ahi tuna, the poke wontons, and kalua pork fired rice. All of it was amazing. The atmosphere was very strange and it felt cluttered, especially in their “gift shop”. It looked like a toy store/thrift shop. The lighting was nice but too many mismatched fixtures and everything clashed. The service was sub par. Our waitress took 10 minutes before acknowledging us. She forgot to put our drink order in and other tables sat after us were receiving their full drink order before we got one drink. She came to check on us once in the full 1.5 hours we were there. They also charge $3.23 to use your credit card for the bill and the tip options are based off of total with tax & the cc fee, so you’re paying tip for more than your meal and crappy service. I still have her more of a tip than deserved. All we ask is that you come by and say I will be with you in a minute I’m a bit backed up. That’s it. Just acknowledge us.

    Christina was our server. She did a great job! We had the Brussel sprouts appetizer - delicious. I had the Wedge Salad — best I have ever had! One of my friends had the sand dabs and she said they were delicious. My other friend had the Chinese Chicken Salad but it was not what she was expecting and did not care for it. She was not charged (that was nice of you).

    Had an amazing Vday dinner, came from Bakersfield so we've never been. Service was 10/10 and the food was absolutely delicious

    First time here, as we are newly moved to the area. This place was recommended by locals. The food and service were excellent, and a real local gem.

    Kona owner Billy Quan has been a restaurant legend on the Monterey Peninsula for thirty plus years. We were seated in big full cushions in a booth, very comfortable. Martinis to start, very chilled and a good pour. The special was Beef Wellington, one of my favorites. It was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. Accompanied with potatoes au Gratin and Vegetables. Hubby had Sand Dabs with Jasmine rice and vegetables. Staff was very accommodating. Tried to post pictures but site was glitchy.

    Absolutely loved this restaurant. Beautiful atmosphere. The food is wonderful and the staff was great. Thank you for another fine restaurant in the Monterey Bay Area!

    Love this place so much! It reminds us of Kula Ranch, the place where we got married in Marina, CA. We love seeing Bill & Teresa every time we come in, their love and attention to detail is felt the moment you walk through the door. We enjoyed another birthday celebration for my husband here, and it never disappoints! We had the best table in the house (the round booth near the bar). My husband and I, along with his parents enjoyed the food, service, drinks, and ambiance. It was another awesome dining experience, we will definitely be back again soon!!!
