Experience modern, coastal Italian cuisine at Fort Lauderdale's newest hot spot, La Fuga. Chef Michael Mayer infuses local South Florida flavors with classic Italian staples to create a fusion of crave-worthy, contemporary dishes.

La Fuga, (Italian for "the escape,") is nestled in the heart of the Kimpton Shorebreak, named in homage to the location’s historic beginnings. The newly renovated Kimpton Shorebreak occupies a unique space in Fort Lauderdale, originally opened as The Escape Hotel in 1949.

La Fuga pays tribute to it's origin story in name and also in atmosphere. Featuring midcentury design, and a laid-back vibe, the indoor-outdoor dining room includes views of the hotel's scenic courtyard and provides access to a rooftop pool overlooking Fort Lauderdale’s intercoastal.

La atención y comida es extraordinaria …. El lugar está en un hotel donde los huéspedes no respetan y pasan en ropa de playa mojados y haciendo ruido fuera del ambiente del sitio

I went here expecting a rooftop spot with interesting food presentation like they pictures they astroturf all over their opentable and google maps pages but unfortunately I was duped by that into a floor level, sub-par ambiance with dirty floors and poor lighting. Service was painfully slow, the bartenders are too inexperienced to know a dirty martini requires… Olive Juice? Lmao, had to send that back and it still didn’t come back right. Other than that you can tell the kitchen is somewhat talented but it just doesn’t compete with the likes of S3 and some other restaurants in the area. Suggestions for management: instead of paying for fake reviews and a “promoted” listing on a website, invest in American staff with a proper grasp of the menu, hospitality, and the english language. Your frontend and bar needs work and that expensive chef you hired will probably leave if you don’t provide that for them.

Four of us went on a Sunday at 5 and were very happy with the experience. We had great service and the food was very delicious. This place is a hidden gem. We had veal, fish, scallops and pasta. All were great.

The food was amazing! Daniella was an amazing person serving us and was appropriately attentive to us. Many checked in to see how our meal was going. I highly recommend you eat here!!
