First time I have been to La Tomate in several years. It was a delight to revisit such a comfortable place. The service was fine. The food was delicious. Beets, Caesar Salad, Ragu Bolognese. It felt comfortable, like going home.

We were looking for something close to our hotel, what a great find. I had the lamb chops; they were perfectly cooked and seasoned. My husband had the bolognese with fettuccine. For dessert I had Chocolate salame w/ cookie crumbs, pistachio, hazelnut, served w/ a side of gelato macchiato My husband had the Apple & cinnamon, shortbread tart, hazelnut gelato, dark chocolate, Italian meringue Both were delicious. Portions are generous, presentations were lovely and service was great.

Wow the overall experience at La Tomate was so memorable. The innovative holiday menu was wonderful. Still the best Cesar salad in town and love the Fresh seafood and healthy pasta options without sacrificing flavor. The hostess/owner Natalina knows most guests by name based on her long time relationship running this successful restaurant since the 1980’s. A remarkable accomplishment.

Restauranteurs since the 1970s Natalina and her late husband George opened La Tomate in 1987, with the aim of being a neighborhood bistro. Indeed, Natalina strives to keep this warm and welcoming atmosphere the leitmotiv of the business. We are so pleased to know you enjoy our Caeser Salad! Did you know we have used the same recipe for the over 40 years ( a recipe from Chef Claude Chateau, way back when George and Natalina owned La Ruche in Georgetown). Did you know we have used the same recipe for the over 40 years ( a recipe originally penned by Chef Claude Chateau, way back when La Tomate owners had a restaurant called La Ruche in Georgetown). We are also very happy to know you enjoy our Cavatelli, which, like many of our pastas are handmade, in-house. Our "SCOTTADITO" lamb chops are also a favorite among many of our clients. Next time try our FILETTO STECCATO (Pan-seared beef tenderloin wrapped w/ pancetta & sage, potato confit heirloom carrots, brown sauce & wine reduction), its exquisite! Nice group of friends dinner. Cocktails with excellent arancini and octopus starters. Pasta dishes were excellent. Well prepared and great flavors. Staff is always helpful and nice.
