   We really enjoyed dining at Latha! Loved the house that the restaurant is in, really liked the decor. This was our first time to try Pan African food and we loved it. The appetizers were especially good. Loved the whipped goat cheese & warm bread, loved loved the watermelon salad and the shrimp Aguachile. Really liked the southern pound cake. This would be a great place to bring friends from out of town.

   Very nice place and atmosphere. My husband and I were there for 1pm Sunday brunch reservation. They were overwhelmed from the hostess booth to the dining room. There were large groups at other tables, which may have played a factor. There was a bit of a wait for the hostess to check us in. The gentleman who checked us in was nice but was also working the dining room. My husband dish that came in a cast iron pan was lukewarm. I waited about 10mins for my dish to arrive after my husband’s. The waitress was nice and comp our drinks for the long wait time. Overall, nice atmosphere and the food was decent. I think we will go back during the week day and early before it gets busy.

   This was my first time visiting, and I actually discovered the place on Instagram. What drew me in was the ambiance—it beautifully represented African culture, and as a Nigerian, I felt right at home. I love supporting restaurants and leaving thoughtful reviews, especially when I’ve had a full experience. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was vibrant. The DJ played amazing Nigerian Afrobeats that truly took me back home. I was seated by a lovely hostess, and although the wait time for food and service was on the longer side, I assumed they might’ve been understaffed. As for the food, the main dish didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I had the salmon and shrimp, which were enjoyable, but the coconut rice was too mushy, and the tomato sauce had a soapy, sour taste I couldn’t get past. However, I did enjoy the “Passion Fire” cocktail—it was delicious and refreshing. The pound cake with strawberry glaze was also a hit—soft, flavorful, and satisfying. What really impressed me, though, was how the restaurant handled my concerns. After mentioning to my server that I wasn’t satisfied with the main course, the manager personally came over to address it. Not only was I offered a second dessert on the house, but they also gave me a $10 discount. That small gesture went a long way—it made me feel heard and valued, and the manager even encouraged me to try something else, which I appreciated. Overall, I would absolutely visit again. My bill for two came to $155, which felt reasonable, especially with the added bonus of validated parking.

   Such a delightful evening at Latha. The food was delicious. I had the oxtails. The music was a vibe and we even saved room for dessert. The owner herself stopped to make sure we were having a wonderful time. I highly recommend.

   Hit or miss with the dinners. Beautifully cooked steak. Maqueca had overcooked fish unfortunately. Great cocktails and interesting wines. Service was very slow yet friendly. Loved the vibe with the music. Definitely worth checking out when the music is playing. Just be patient.

   Loud music and the seating inside feels very cramped up. Some of the dishes on the menu are very spicy. So pls double check before ordering. Music can be toned down to let the guest hear themselves

   Saturday night reservation at Latha exceeded our expectations in every way! From the service to the food to the fabulous music. The food is something special and I swear they must add magic to their cocktails because I tried several (don’t judge!) and every single one was better than the last! The owner is a wonderfully sweet woman who floats about, checking on everyone and radiating pure joy. If we hadn’t had plans for after dinner we could have sat on that patio all evening. 10/10 worth every penny spent and more! Get the shrimp and plantain chip appetizer when you go! You will be singing their praise, just as I am!

    This was the best meal I had in Phoenix, hands down. So much genuine love and energy in that building, and it comes through in the food. Do yourself a favor and get the oxtail.
