Bienvenue. Les Bubbles is a Parisian steakhouse on the corner of Wickham and Little Street in Fortitude Valley, forged in the very same building that housed the notorious illegal casino, bath-house and brothel at the centre of the Fitzgerald Inquiry. While the card decks and kerb servers are all but gone, the building’s colourful history remains pinned to every wall. Steak frites – known by many as the national dish of France – is the centrepiece of our menu. We sear the steak to your liking, before serving it with bread, salad, plenty of sauce and bottomless frites. Les Bubbles welcomes all, and as such, both vegetarian and pescatarian eaters will feel right at home. For any curious individuals, a change of scenery is available by wandering down a single flight of stairs. It’s there that you will find the Bath-House, featuring a full bar, banquet seating and a open-aired deck to enjoy a pre or post dinner cocktail!

    Starting off with a glass of your choice of wine with red, white or sparkling on offer, or select a pint or bottled beer. Then into the food! Select one of our entrees: cherry wood smoked bone marrow, premium beef carpaccio with horseradish cream & pickled beetroot, delicious oven baked Graindorge camembert with onion confit and warm bread, or hearty French onion soup. Then comes our famous Les Bubbles steak frites with soft leaf salad with vinaigrette dressing, your selection of our house made sauces and unlimited fries at no extra charge. We have delicious desserts available for purchase, if you still have space!

    It was very hot in the restaurant. (Middle of summer) Food is rather good and service is excellent.

    Definitely upgrade to the premium steak option. The non premium was mostly fat

    Not as good as it used to be. Been here a few times and they used to come round with the bottomless bowl of fries to top you up as often as you liked. Sadly that was missing this last visit. Also didn't get the fresh bread that used to be provided, and is still mentioned on the menu. Staff that sat us offered tap or sparkling water which she never came back with and we never did get asked if we'd like more drinks during the meal. The online booking allowed us to note this was an anniversary dinner however this wasn't even acknowledged by the staff so not sure why that is even suggested. The steak was great as usual and the venue is unique but the service and standards that seem to have slipped don't make this venue stand out as an option any more than the local pub meal.

    The food is always fantastic, but it was unbearably hot inside. We ended up leaving early due to all of us sweating and feeling generally uncomfortable. We asked the waitstaff if there were any way to lower the temperature but were told that someone forgot to turn it on in time for dinner. It really made the entire dining experience unpleasant. We will reconsider returning in the future because of this souring experience.

    Wasn’t really impressed by Les Bubbles, the air con seemed to have stopped working as the restaurant felt hotter than outside, the room was even hotter than my steak ! Food was okay but, unlimited chips were not offered at our visit. Service was slow but it was becoming busy on a Friday night, a tip was only left as I felt terrible for the workers having to work in that heat!

    Quality and presentation have gone down significantly. While they used to serve a good portion of salad first, it’s now served all in a smaller plate with a smaller piece of meat and chips. Unlimited chips are not offered but available if you request them (only those who know, obviously). It Is a pub meal for $40. We were placed in a table that was cosy and private but there was a strong smell of sewage. I think this restaurant is more living of its good reputation in the past, but certainly not worth the value anymore. Such a real shame as I used to love going to this place.
