To welcome in 2025 we are offering a special lunch and pre-theatre menu. £20 for 2 courses and £25 for 3 (plus service). It is an amazing bargain for the whole of January.

L'Escargot is London's oldest and most celebrated French restaurant serving classic French dishes. Favourite dishes include French onion soup, Lobster bisque, oysters, Tournedos "Rossini", grilled lobster, Chateaubriand and of course snails ! L'Escargot was voted one of the most romantic restaurants in London and is a perfect spot to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.

If you want to come in just for a drink, upstairs there is a great cocktail bar with reasonably priced cocktails and a bar snack menu.

The restaurant has welcomed celebrities such as Coco Chanel, Charles de Gaulle, Maurice Chevalier, Laurence Olivier, Lucien Freud and Francis Bacon. and was a favourite of Princess Diana

L'Escargot is located close to all the major West-End theatres, which makes it an excellent pre and post theatre dining spot.

Enjoyed the prix fixe pretheatre deal it was excellent value for fab food in a lovely atmosphere with helpful and professional service. Hope to get back before end of the month and deal!

Overall an excellent experience the Onion soup and lemon tart in particular are the best I have tasted in the UK. The only negative is probably down to Open Table rather than the resturant but when asked during the booking process on Open table whether there was any special occasion I responded that it was a birthday celebration and there was no acknowledgement of this at the resturant. This happened on another occasion at another resturant I booked through Open table.

We are delighted you enjoyed your food. We are distraught that we forgot to do a birthday plate for you. The fault lies entirely with us, not with OpenTable; your waiter forgot to tell the chef that there was a birthday on the table and as a consequence nothing special was done. We are booked all the time for birthday and anniversary celebrations, and are noted for being a special place for these celebrations, we are really sincerely sorry we failed you on this occasion. A Parisian Gem in the Heart of London As a lover of fine food and impeccable service, L'Escargot exceeded all of our expectations. I enjoyed a delightful midday lunch on a bustling Saturday with my girlfriend, an avid Francophile and discerning foodie. The restaurant, brimming with character and a charming buzz, offered a sophisticated yet relaxed ambiance. The exquisite three-course meal, paired with carefully selected wines, was an absolute treat. Each dish was full of flavour and the presentation immaculate The warm, crusty bread basket, baked in-house, was a delightful prelude to the culinary journey. The authenticity of the cuisine and the attentive service did not get missed by my Normandy love. The elegant interior, steeped in history, and the impeccable service provided by the attentive staff created an unforgettable dining experience. A heartfelt thank you to L'Escargot for a truly memorable Parisian afternoon in the heart of London."

Fast attentive service. Probably the best duck confit I've ever had. The steak with foie gras and morel was absolutely pricey, but absolutely delicious. Wish we had room for dessert!
