South End was home to Charlotte’s first railroad line, connecting us to Columbia and Charleston, SC in the mid-1800’s. “Link & Pin” is an old railroad term. A “Link” was installed on one railcar then, as the two railcars were joined, a “Pin” was manually inserted into the other railcar’s link, holding the two railcars together. Since we are in Historic South End and on a light rail stop, we felt the name Link & Pin was a good fit.

    This was the absolute worst experience I’ve had in a long time if not ever at a restaurant. And, I never write reviews of any sort but I’m hoping to save others from the terrible experience we had. Our reservation was at 6:45p and we arrived early. We were seated quickly and waitress arrived to table promptly. She brought water and took our drink orders. They had a special bourbon cocktail that she highly recommended which I ordered. The rest of the table ordered wine or just had water. It took a good 15min for the wine to come, but my cocktail still hadn’t arrived. The waitress continued to tell me it was on the way and then comes back much later to say they had run out of the special cocktail. So I ordered a different cocktail. By 7:30pm (45 min after our reservation), I still had no cocktail. She finally brought it a few minutes later with no mention of comping it. She was apologetic but nothing else. We had ordered appetizers well before then which were good. We then ordered entrees. I got the halibut w the side kale salad. The halibut itself was tiny, overcooked, and bland! It’s pretty hard to mess up a fish like halibut. They had a serving of what tasted like hot oil (I guess sauce) that I think was to go over the fish, that had zero taste (other than that of hot oil). The side kale salad that was maybe 1/4 cup was good. I also ordered a side of brussel sprouts bc the waitress said the halibut didn’t come with much of a side which was true but absurd for $32. The brussel sprouts were good. My husband had the whole flounder entree which was enormous and had zero taste although the waitress said it was her favorite thing on the menu. He took about 3 bites and was done. But, the worst part was my friend ordered the brussel sprout salad with grilled chicken, but they put salmon on it instead of chicken. She returned it and by the time they brought the correct salad, everyone else at the table had finished their entree by at least 10-15 minutes. It was ridiculous!

    it was a great dining experience! the staff was knowledgeable on the menu and able to assist with recommendations and alternative options for my celiac and peanut/treenut allergies which I value immensely.

    Six meals and all were exceptional; Kansas City steak, pork chop, lobster roll and burgers. The cauliflower appetizer was outstanding. Everything was made even better by our server Shy!

    Took my husband for his birthday dinner here. It was amazing! Food was incredible, ambiance was awesome and the service outstanding. They listened to his dietary restrictions and accommodated and there was a restaurant full of people and it was not noisy! I would highly recommend, especially for an occasion such as this.

    Had Rez for Friday night. Greeted promptly but decided to sit at the bar. Glad we did. Tatiana was so passionate about what she does - (she makes a great smoked old fashion). Dustin was great as well as both were informative and always upbeat even as the bar filled up. Great food with even better service. Extensive drink selection. We will definitely be back.

    Went to celebrate my sister’s birthday with a group of family and friends. Overall, our experience was fine with the exception that my sister’s appetizer was made incorrectly and her entree had hair in it. The manager and server were very pleasant and apologetic, and rectified the issue. Not the best experience for the birthday girl, but nice restaurant nonetheless.
