Livestock Tavern is a seasonal restaurant and whiskey bar that is located in the Chinatown District of Honolulu.

The menu that is served is full of variety. We pride ourselves with having an extensive whiskey & wine list perfect for any occasion.

We accept reservations and walk-ins.
For large reservations of 6 or more, one tab is required and automatic gratuity is added.
For large reservations of 12 or more, a preset menu is required.

Our sister restaurant, The Tchin Tchin Bar, has a more of a social appeal that is perfect for large party events. There is street parking throughout the whole day where you do pay by the hour using a coin meter, this parking option is free after 6PM. We do have municipal parking lots located just a couple of blocks away from the restaurant. One being on 155 Beretania Street, the cheapest one we know, and another one closer is on 106A N. King Street.

We tried Livestock Tavern for the first time tonight, having initially avoided it due to concerns about the safety of the surrounding neighborhood. We were really glad we that we finally went, and totally regret not trying this exceptional restaurant earlier!! The food, drinks, and service were outstanding (even the foodies in our group raved), and we thoroughly enjoyed all the yummy appetizers and the wonderful entrees. The Brussels and Pumpkin app was entirely and enthusiastically eaten, and as far as entrees go, the prime rib, mushroom risotto, crab ravioli, and the steaks all exceeded expectations. (side note the neighborhood is greatly improved compared to a few years ago). We definitely will be back!!!

A few things I would add to the experience that would take it up a notch: I understand that while white table cloths would be an added expense, it would certainly add some elegance to the otherwise unique atmosphere. More comfortable chairs are really needed. Just those too things would take this experience from a "good" to an "outstanding". I'd pay a couple extra bucks for the difference. It would be nice to have a slightly expanded wine list, but the Cabernet Sauvignon I had was a very good selection. The food was very good. Only two minor changes I would suggest; The Caesar salad was much too big as a first course, even for the two of us. It was the size of a main course. Also, it was more like a chopped salad. I would suggest 3-5 complete heart of Romaine leaves with a drizzle of proper Caesar dressing and shavings of a good Parmesan; a more efficient cost/value alternative and a more appropriate size as an appetizer. The taste of the crab ravioli was exceptional, but a thinner pasta would be an improvement. The service was good and the waitress friendly. I will in any case go back and recommend it to my friends.

We ordered soups, appetizers, mains and dessert. Everything was delicious! Good portion size and price was not ridiculous.

Fantastic smoked prime rib, generous but not crazy portion, great fresh salad as well, attentive and good service.

First visit to Livestock Tavern and it was excellent. Great service and super delicious dishes! We will definitely will return.

Waiter seemed overloaded. They forgot a key part of our order and we had the wait over 20 minutes for 1 items and when it came everything else was cold. Food was good, but this delay kinda ruined things.

Hubby tried their "Fork & Knife" Briskey Sandwich, which really is no sandwich at all. At the bottom of the mountain of food is a slice of bread, followed by mashed potato and then covered with large cubes of brisket (perfectly cooked) and then again covered with 5-mushroom truffle gravy. He claims it is an entree from heaven. Of course, he couldn't finish his generously portioned dish, and the remainder will be gobbled down in two other meals. It was sooooo good, he said it was on par with Livestock Tavern's ever-famous prime rib. Needless to say, we will be back.
