Longhorn smokehouse is new restaurant located within Wrest Point.

We’re taking a modern approach to the traditional flavours and ‘low and slow method’ of Southern American BBQ. Sink your teeth into the best grilled, smoked, and baked meats, sourced from the finest local producers. All against the stunning backdrop of the River Derwent.

In other words, it’s your classic American smokehouse, done the Tasmanian way.

Our team live to grill and smoke Tasmania’s best meats to perfection. We have homemade rubs and a curated range of sauces to complement every dish. Longhorn Smokehouse was wonderful!! We had one of the share platters and it was fantastic. The service was also 10/10 the staff were so friendly and quick with our meals.

It was our first time trying the restaurant and it wasn’t the best. We had the calamari and burnt end entire and the calamari was more burnt than then burnt ends. We both got the same steak cooked medium rare yet one steak was more rare than the other. The one that was more rare I would say was rare not medium rare. The lady thing was the amount of times staff approached us to ask if the meal was ok once I enough after that please leave us alone. At the end of the day the meal was more expensive than what St albi’s was and was no where near as good. Have a lovely day!!

The staff here are friendly and very professional. They worked well as a team and communication to clients, excellent. They know their products and explained menu and drink items well. They kept their enquiries about our meal discreet but appropriate. The restaurant smelt devine and the food did not disappoint. Both the lamb and eye fillet were cooked to perfection. The chefs in the grill kitchen know their stuff and were interesting to watch... great team work! The thick cut chips were disappointing as they were not crunchy as anticipated. Great mac n cheese and lovely accompaniments with the lamb. We enjoyed the apple pie dessert and left very satisfied diners. Well done everyone.

All good. The food was delicious. The attention was not to good and not to bad. Just need to pay more attention to customers at night time.

The food was good, but disappointed with the service. The waitress who showed us to the table didn’t even say hello. They tried to make us do a set menu when we were a table of 10 and it was not advised on booking that we had to. The menu clearly stated the set menu was for groups of 12 or more. We brought a cake as it was my partners birthday which we gave to the waitress when we arrived. My friend (who didn’t know there was a cake) ordered a dessert for my partner as a surprise, but the wait staff should’ve told them there was cake and questioned if the dessert was necessary. It just ended up being wasted,
