Welcome to The Lord High Admiral – a friendly, independent pub tucked away in Plymouth’s historic Stonehouse. We’re proud to serve great beer, proper drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere in a space that’s become a true neighbourhood favourite.

All food at The LHA is provided by SLAB, our in-house kitchen serving up Detroit-style pizza – a deep, crispy, cheesy, square pie that’s perfect for sharing or devouring solo.

Bookings made through this page are for dining with SLAB – whether you’re planning a birthday meal, pre-quiz dinner, or just want to guarantee a table at busy times. You’re welcome to just come for drinks too, but we ask that tables reserved through OpenTable include food orders.

Our covered beer garden is open year-round and is dog-friendly. Walk-ins are always welcome, but booking ahead is recommended for evenings and weekends.

We’re not a chain, we don’t do things by the book, and that’s just how we like it. Come grab a slice and see what we’re all about.

Excellent roast. We had the beef which was cooked to perfection and came with extra gravy. Would recommend.

The food was Delicious and the service was excellent. However on returning home and looking over the bill we discovered we had been charged for drinks that we didn't have. There was four of us and we had 5 drinks.Our food was 4 Roasts with extras & 3 desserts which totalled £112.50. Our bill with drinks totalled £155.10 Plus Discretionary 12.5% service charge came to £174.51. The Lord High Admiral was recommended to us for their Sunday Roast which was very tasty but I prefer to have it as my choice to leave a tip or not and to get charged on top for drinks we never had leaves a question on their service and how attentive they really are. Not sure I would return even though we thoroughly enjoyed the food. I suggest you check your bill before you leave.

Had read great reviews about the Sunday roast. Decided to try it. Got a reservation easily. Arrived on time. Pub was freezing and remained so throughout. Shocked at price. £18.50 for main course only. This is just a normal pub! Food arrived promptly. Server was very good. Carrots overcooked, potatoes probably cooked the day before and reheated, parsnips soaking in fat, pork passible but no crackling. Gravy no taste and looked like brown water. Disappointed 😞
