Lucia Beverley is located down a beautiful floral alley just a stone's throw from the popular market town's bustling Saturday market. The elegant two-storey restaurant features sumptuous interiors as well as a beautiful and cosy heated outdoor courtyard. It serves a modern Italian all day menu seven days a week from 12-10pm, with weekend brunch served from 9 -1130am Friday to Sunday.

    Lucia is normally great, fab place to eat. It was my wife’s birthday and Lucia would normally be perfect, but, it didn’t work for us this time. We’d booked for 6pm and were on time. When we turned up lots of people were waiting, the table wasn’t ready and there was nowhere available to wait, we were pretty much asked to come back later, OK, we can do that. On return, we were seated upstairs - this is a very inferior dining experience. Downstairs has a fabulous feel, lovely warm ambience- top class. Upstairs, mmm, very ordinary, tables squeezed in, just, very ordinary, nowhere near the same feel, you book Lucia for the ambience and feel good, which downstairs gives you. Upstairs could be Wetherspoons. Please take a good look at the setup, upstairs, it’s way below Lucia’s standards - if offered upstairs next time, apologies, but, it’s a no. I’ll jog on thanks.

    Unfortunately the quality of the steaks and extras to accompany the steaks which we ordered were poor. Flavourless and arrived at different times during the service. The carbonara sauce was rather watery however it was reasonable and was eaten and the chilli pasta was actually very nice. Just very disappointing on the steaks and the sides. After the starters the mains were an hour before they arrived. Apparently a mix up with the tickets they said. The house beer was lovely as were the cocktails. A poor evening overall when it came to the food and very expensive to be disappointed.

    Four of us ate there, my husband ordered the beef gnocchi, it was very chewy and baked to the bottom of the dish. Mentioned to the waitress but she didn’t do anything about it. So my husband left most of it. I ordered the seafood linguine which was only warm and not hot. We won’t be in a rush to return

    Booked the bottomless brunch at the Lucia restaurant. The service from start to finish was excellent. The staff could not accommodate enough and the venue itself is stunning. Would highly recommended

    Had a great bottomless brunch at Lucia this weekend. Food and service was amazing we will definitely be returning.
