Lucia York is an all-day restaurant and cocktail bar serving a modern Italian menu feat. homemade pasta, gelato, pizza, pesce & carne dishes seven days a week.

Located in the heart of York minutes away from York Minster and The Shambles, this stylish restaurant boasts elegant interiors and an attractive heated outdoor courtyard.

Lucia's patisserie is open from 9am every day. The main restaurant opens from 12pm.

Came to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday and the restaurant organised balloons and a card. Starters of mussels, prawns and garlic bread were delicious. When the mains arrived my daughter’s meal was cool, the staff immediately took this away and prepared the dish fresh and gave her a complimentary drink. These things happen and it was dealt with quickly and did not spoil the evening. Other mains of cod saltimbocca, slow cooked beef and steak Alfredo were delicious. Spritzes also recommend

We paid upfront for the new year set menu and two glasses of preseco we arrived early which wasn’t a problem but they were running late anyway so had to wait 25 mins over our booking slot but they did give us the first drinks for free because of this. We asked for our two glasses of presseco but still never got them yet, then when we went to order they didn’t have two of the choices for starter so we had to settle for something that we didn’t really want but it was either that or nothing. The main courses were lovely and can’t fault them but the service from one of the staff was not nice at all very abrupt etc, we ordered our desert which then after 45 minutes of not getting this we decided to just get the bill and leave. so paid £100 for a starter and main meal absolutely ridiculous, we were not the only ones as we could see lots of other people were having similar problems with food choices and even their bill at the end trying to over charge on 3 tables around us alone so wouldn’t like to think how many others had this problem too. Food was lovely what we had but would not be going back and would not recommend any of our friends to go there.

We went for the New Year’s Eve set menu (3 courses and a glass of prosecco for £50). We booked our table for 9:30. When we arrived we had to wait 30 minutes for our table to become available. Service was very slow and we didn’t get our mains until 11. The meatball starter was also cold. It felt like they were overbooked and didn’t have enough staff. Overall our experience was fair but I wouldn’t rush to go back.

Food was lovely and the service was great,, only issue was as it was New Year’s Eve there was extremely loud music blaring which made it difficult for us to speak or hear anything Overall was a good meal though!! Felt the booming music was unnecessary

The only criticism I have is it was my wife’s 70th birthday but no effort was made to make it a very special occasion.
