   It was our first time at Luci’s. The food was nothing special and actually feels cheap, which is nothing wrong with cheap food but the price was not cheap at all. There were two different waiters sent us the same wrong dish twice…..And we got charged “service fee” automatically by 20%. The Mother’s Day menu is completely a rip off. Not sure how the food tastes on a regular day. But we won’t go back again.

   We have been here before for dinner, but when I heard they were doing a special Mothers Day Brunch, I couldn't resist. It was everything I hoped for and more. A specialty menu for the day allowed us to try a number of dishes that aren't on the regular menu like CrabCake Bendedict and Steak,Egg and Polenta with Grilled Vegetables and Crispy Bacon. Overall a wonderful experience that made a special day even better!

   First time diners here. Mathew was our waiter and he provided top service. We were surprised how empty the restaurant was all night, especially for a Friday evening. The few tables that did arrive generated a lot of noise, luckily not too bad and did not interrupt our dining, but was noticeable (lot of echos / yang energy). We enjoyed the before dinner drinks and the wines by the glass. Kudos to the bar staff. The appetizers were very good (delicious shrimp & long stem artichokes but the artichokes were missing any semblance of any stem….still tasty). We sent back the scallops and risotto as they tasted like plastic and for $55 a very disappointing dish. Instead we ordered a second ribeye which was not a problem and arrived quickly. We shared the gravy boat of hot truffle butter, creamed spinach and sautéed mushrooms. All very good, but the steaks were tough with more tendons than I cared for. Also, the meat was very salty. We finished half and took the rest home. At home we noticed the meat was just too tough to cut and chew. Mathew surprised us with a flan/panocota dessert which was quite good. We added an espresso martini which was delicious and well made. Overall we enjoyed our meal and our service. We had to have our bill adjusted as it was incorrect and quickly corrected. The maitre’d visited the few tables except for ours. We may not return only because their prices were as high as every other steak house and they did not really justify their price / experience over other choices nearby that provide a better atmosphere / dining experience. I felt we had much better quality steaks elsewhere.

   What an unexpected surprise to find this gem with outstanding service, a wonderful menu selection and amazing food. Everything we had was outstanding - my dad said the Zuppe di Mare was better than he had in Italy and the whole family loved the carpaccio appetizer. More importantly, they made a very important anniversary celebration for my dad, very special with a customized dessert and personalized attention. When my dad went to thank them, he got to talk one-on-one with the chef which made him feel extra special on his special day. We will definitely be going back to keep exploring the menu!

   We celebrated our anniversary, and the drink, food and service was 100!!! The calamari was on point. The two sauces that comes with it, combined together, mind-blowing! It was cooked to perfection. Our entree’s were delicious. I had the linguine lobster and shrimp pasta and my wife had lobster ravioli. We are planning a date night with our friends to come back and experience other food options.

   Underwhelming is the word to describe our dining experience at Luci's Italian Ristorante. My wife was excited to order a veal dish only to be told veal was not available and will be coming off the menu. She disappointedly ordered a chicken version of the veal offering. Underwhelming flavor in the Delmonico steak entree I ordered, which was extremely fatty and served rare nor medium rare as I ordered. Improperly prepared wedge salad (served hot and wet not cold and crisp) and minimally attentive service focused on other parties. For a birthday celebration noted in my Open Table reservation and which my wife reminded the server, there was no recognition of the event. Yet the table behind us was recognized with birthday dessert greetings. I did praise the bar tender for his excellent Manhattan which was the highlight of our dining experience. For $175.00 Pampas or Cabernet would have been far better choices.
