Lulu Bar is an escape from the ordinary. Its welcoming vibe is reminiscent of hidden gems from your last vacation, only better because it’s right here in your own backyard. With a healthy, Pacific-inspired menu, Lulu’s wood-fired food is light and fresh — but heavy on flavour.
Chef Joseph Sokoloff’s fare is a tribute to the Pacific Ocean and many of the regions that touch it, with influences from Asia to Hawaii, California to British Columbia. Lulu’s fun, light, and refreshing drink menu is equally well-travelled. Its wine, beer, and creative cocktail offerings will make you feel like you’re far from home — and we like that.

Lulu Bar used to be one of my favourite spots in Calgary. I've been a loyal customer since they opened, always enjoying the great service, even when I occasionally sent something back. Unfortunately, my last visit left me deeply disappointed and upset. I recently brought some friends from out of town, hoping to share one of my go-to spots with them. Sadly, things didn’t go as planned. We ordered drinks that didn’t taste great, and one caused my friend heartburn. When we politely sent them back, the male manager approached us and began questioning why the drinks were returned. After explaining, he continued pressing my friend about why she was having heartburn. When she said she wanted a margarita as a replacement, his response—“Tequila, do you think that’s too strong?”—felt unnecessary and condescending. The tone and manner in which he spoke made us feel extremely uncomfortable. What made this experience worse was that it felt like the manager’s behavior was racially motivated. As my friend is a person of color, his attitude and the way he spoke to her felt different from how staff had treated me on previous visits. This type of interaction is not acceptable anywhere, especially in a professional dining environment. It’s incredibly disheartening because I used to love this place, but after this experience, I can’t see myself returning. Respect, professionalism, and inclusivity are essential in hospitality, and this experience failed on all fronts. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously and works to ensure all guests feel welcome, respected, and valued.

We came on a busy night and the service was slow. We didn’t get drinks for 25 minutes. The food was pretty good but we did get one dish that tasted fishy. Great Mai Tai

The food was fantastic. Our server Margaret was super helpful with recommendations, and helping me with my nut allergy! So was the host/manager on duty! Every single server that brought food to the table made sure to confirm my allergy. It was incredible. Drinks and food were both fabulous and we will for sure be back!

Overall food was as expected, but sat on the side of the restaurant which didn't have the greatest ambience. The heating was incredibly hot, and was so warm that it warmed the wine.

Met up with a friend here for dinner at 6 pm. We got seated in the upstairs corner which was quiet. Very attentive service. Food came out quick. Drinks were great. Total damage was $63 which is a bit more on the expensive end of things but it was worth it.

Calm for pre-Christmas lunch. Sat at the bar. Great service. Excellent food. The Loco Moco is my current favourite dish. The Calamari is my ‘every time’ favourite

Yesterday evening, we had a wonderful time at Lulu Bar was warm and inviting, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish beautifully presented.
