   Excellent all round. We were are party of five, and by chance, each ordered a different main. All were delicious. Top service.

   The Old San Carlo restaurant was surprisingly good. Selection on menu was very good and the food was excellent. Service was very accommodating. Look forward to going back very soon. Good ambience and very comfortable

   My main course: Slow-braised Haye Farm organic featherblade of beef Excellent flavour, cooked to the right temperature and time. My husband had "Onglet": very pleased with the choice. I could see from the texture, it was tender and cooked with precision - not easy with this cut.

   The choice of embroidered linen napkins showed great attention to detail which was carried throughout our really delicious ‘proper’ lunch..Great welcome, ambience, seasonal food, chicory, lamb, rhubarb, all there and good wine. Looking forward to our next visit and the Summer menu. Newly opened they said, but set to become a treasured local gem.

   Super food and service - consistent with our local Lussmanns in St Albans. Good variety of menu items, fairly priced.

    Service very slow. After 90 minutes, we had still only had the first course. Fish stew poor - hardly tasted of fish. No toilet paper in Ladies' toilet
