The German word to describe the most fun- and funny- events is “Lustig”. Chef Bernhard Mairinger believes a dining experience only becomes truly Lustig, when shared with others. We speak FOOD - the most common language of the world!

Our Service style is Gemütlichkeit - which stands for a warm, welcoming, and enjoyable atmosphere in combination with heartwarming hospitality and that is what makes Lustig a very unique dining experience among all LA restaurants.

Absolutely delicious! Congrats to Chef Mairinger for this Austrian-German gem of a restaurant. It was our 2nd visit with a slightly changed menu this time. My wife had the German veal schnitzel with mushroom sauce with Spätzle and the cucumber salad. I had the sausage sampler with Sauerkraut. We started with the Pretzel Basket. The spreads alone were outstanding. For dessert we got a box with a selection of cookies. I think these were a Christmas special?! Anyhow. We devoured them at home, and they were equally good. The place is a bit on the pricier side, but worth every penny!

We ate at the bar, which turned out to be a great decision. Kevin guided us through the menu, cocktails, and desserts. Really lively vibe here, can’t wait to go back!

We were happy with the food. We, four ladies, are foodies that love to share and taste everything together. Especially when we are celebrating one our Birthday. Must mention about the wonderful server that had great conversation too. Thank you for the lovely dinner.

We were really excited to try Lustig after many years after an amazing experience at BierBeisl. Bernhard and his team did not disappoint! Food was excellent and great atmosphere. Team was a bit short staffed and new/in training so this hopefully will be strengthened for our next visit.

We have eaten at Lustig a few times and have always enjoyed it tremendously. Last night we sat at the bar, enjoyed their happy hour menu and perfect martinis and had a great time! The staff is friendly and welcoming, the food and drinks are fantastic, and the decor is awesome.

the food here is so delicious and interesting and special and every single dish you order is special and notable and YUMMY. chicken schnitzel + fries is the move - all of the salads are GREAT too

Not sure how I missed chef Mairinger having a restaurant opened up again since January. I loved his “Bierbeisl” restaurant back in the day. “Lustig” was absolutely fabulous! We started with the “Bigeye Tuna Canoli”, and we had a veal “Wiener Schnitzel” and a Sausage Sampler as mains. Absolutely excellent food. We finished with the “Strudel Cigars” and added a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream to it. Icing on the cake. Service was also top notch, and Chef Mairinger came out at the end to ask for our opinion. While it is on the pricier side, it is worth every penny, and we definitely will be back! Glad to see he’s back on the map, so to speak!

Waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and all of the wait staff was attentive. We started with a few of their custom cocktails (chile celery-vodka, tart and delicious, and a chocolate-inflected old fashioned which were both outstanding). All of the dishes we tried were fantastic - schnitzel and venison were standouts. We’ll be back.
