   Had to wait 30 min past reservation and the food had potential but lacked flavor. Lots of potential. We will go back. Unique for Charlotte!

   The drinks, food and service were all great and we loved the vibe of the space when we walked in! Unfortunately, even though I had made a reservation well in advance for 4ppl, we were seated at a communal table for 8ppl with uncomfortable barstools instead of dining chairs, located way in the back of the restaurant by the bathroom hallway and kitchen instead of in the main dining area. This definitely affected the ambiance and overall experience. That being said, we will definitely go back based on the delicious food and great service, but we will be sure to request a regular dining room table!

   Maiz Agua Sal is a true gem in Charlotte! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warm, friendly service that makes you feel right at home. The attention to detail in every dish is incredible, and you can truly taste the freshness in every bite. The house-made heirloom corn tortillas are on another level—soft, flavorful, and the perfect base for their incredible tacos. And speaking of tacos, the Al Pastor is hands down the best I’ve had in Charlotte. Perfectly marinated, tender, and bursting with flavor, it’s a must-try. The cocktails are just as impressive. Thoughtfully crafted, balanced, and refreshing, they complement the meal beautifully. Whether you’re a mezcal fan or prefer a classic margarita, you’ll find something to love. Between the vibrant atmosphere, the outstanding food, and the genuinely kind and attentive service, Maiz Agua Sal is a place I’ll keep coming back to. Highly recommend!

   Tacos are great and flavorful, however, they are small and at $5 a pop they aren’t inexpensive. Chips and salsa are served and are also really good but the chips are excessively greasy. If you want more salsa it’s a $1 more which seems ridiculous. Guac was good but served in a paper boat which did not hold up well. It should be served in a bowl like the amazing elote. Also love the Jamaica agua Fresca.

   Truly a favorite place to come a few times a month with friends and family. The food and drinks are consistently delicious and interesting. The tortillas are freshly made in house, and I like to get extra to take home. Everyone is kind and welcoming, and it’s an absolutely beautifully designed restaurant with a relaxing and inviting feeling. It’s the kind of place you can linger and enjoy conversations. They even have a skyline view from the patio and a warm fire pit. We often walk down the hill to the nearby greenway for a stroll after we eat. Thank you, Maiz Agua Sal. You make Charlotte a better place to be!

   Food was OUTSTANDING! Very surprised this restaurant isn’t crowded with people, the food, service, drinks, and options are incredible. Not overpriced, great amount of food for your money and very fast service. Complimentary chips and salsa were the best chips/salsa i’ve ever had. Thank you Terrance!

    The food is always excellent. We were accommodated incredibly well. They were willing to accommodate us sitting outside on a very cold night (even though we ultimately wised up and changed our minds). The complimentary chips and salsa are incredibly generous with multiple excellent options. This is one of our favorite spots in town 🩷
