   Delicious food and great service. We ordered tinga and cochinita pibil tacos and nachos. Also, the tres leches desert. I loved it.

   Enjoyed every course. Pork belly street tacos for me and duck mole for spouse. Possibly the best mole I have ever had. From me that only means so much. My wife from Mexico City agreed and that means a lot.

   My girlfriend & I went for our one year anniversary. Our server Will immediately made us feel welcome & his service was impeccable. From the first bite to the last, we loved the food & drinks. Every aspect of our meal was top notch & we will definitely return. Thank you to everyone at Maiz for going above & beyond & making our anniversary so special!

   First time visit to Maiz De La Vida, and I was quite impressed. We were seated at the bar, which is front row to the kitchen. Although I’m not as keen on bar side seating, we were greeted with a tasty appetizer by one of the chefs. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu, which I found helpful, particularly with the drink choices. Our drinks of the night were the Cantarito, which was hands down the best margarita I’ve had. The Paloma, which was a Mexican take of an Aperol Spritz, and the Nueva New York. Appetizers: We ordered the Chips with Guacamole, which was so fresh, from the avocados to house made chips. This also came with three different salsas, all tasty with the perfect amount of heat. We also ordered the Elote with lime, which was the perfect ratio of corn, cream, cojita cheese. They also added a taste of ancho chile paste for extra flavor. Mains: The fish tacos were crispy and flavorful. The avocado salsa tied the tacos together nicely. The portion was on the smaller side, but with the appetizers, this wasn’t really an issue. The quesabirria was delicious, and tender. The wagyu beef was braised and cooked nicely. This was served with a side of the consume, along with a Smokey chipotle style sauce, which just brought all the flavor to this dish. This was served as a quesadilla only, so if you’re looking for more sustenance, you’d likely need to order additional sides. Dessert: The Caramel Tres Leches was tasty, with the perfect ratio of milk to cake. It was topped off with a nice cream topping and a few caramel popcorn pieces. The portion is small, so would recommend getting a second order if you’re a big sweet tooth. Overall, the restaurant was lively and ambient. The staff was friendly and helpful with recommendations. Parking was easy, and they offer validation which was a nice treat to the ending of our dinner. I would recommend Maiz De La Vida to those searching for delicious Mexican cuisine in Nashville.
