   I stopped by Mallards in Bloomington, MN after watching a TikTok video raving about their Hot Chicken and Cornbread Waffles—so I had to see if it lived up to the hype! Food Review: - Hot Chicken & Cornbread Waffles (8/10) – The chicken was perfectly crispy, juicy, and packed with spice—absolutely delicious. However, the spicy sauce overpowered the cornbread waffles, making it hard to enjoy the maple syrup’s sweetness. If the balance were better, this dish would be a knockout! - Jambalaya – Beautiful presentation, but unfortunately, the flavor didn’t match the look. It could have used more seasoning to bring out the bold Cajun flavors. - Meatloaf Platter (10/10) – This was a standout dish! The meatloaf was flavorful, tender, and well-seasoned. Highly recommend! - Desserts – The Caramel Apple Pie was the best of the bunch, with a perfect mix of tart and sweet. The flourless chocolate cake was rich, decadent, and a dream for chocolate lovers—great for sharing! Service & Atmosphere: Service was friendly and efficient, making the dining experience enjoyable. If you’re hungry in the Bloomington area and need a quick, satisfying bite, Mallards is worth a visit! Would I return? Yes! I’d love to explore more of their menu and maybe try the hot chicken again with the sauce on the side.

   We went for the Friday Fish Fry during Lent. We both had the walleye, and it was very good.

   Food was decent. Service was ok. Cleanliness of the restaurant was the reason for 3 stars. The floors were extremely sticky throughout the establishment. Gives you a gross feeling as you are guided to your table.

   Food had no taste whatsoever, service was good! Had the waffle chicken boy was it not any good.

   The service was good. The menu was kind of limited. The food was good though and the value was good, but the noise level was so loud that we won’t be back.

    The dinner menu that Open Table shows online is quite different from the dinner menu actually presented to you at Mallards Bloomington Minnesota location. Do not depend that a meal item of interest to you that you see on the online via Open Table is now available at the restaurant. The inconsistencies are considerable. Don't go there if it's important to you that what you see on the online menu is what you must be able to order and enjoy at Mallards Bloomington Minnesota location.
