   We dined in, but unfortunately there was far too many takeaway orders processed ahead of our order. We had to wait well over an hour for our food. This may have been due to it being Valentines Day but ..........

   Being Valentine’s night and clearly ill equipped to manage the demand, service was excruciatingly slow. The waiters did their best but the food was ordinary. Mozzarella sticks were good, garlic prawns were more tomatoey than garlic and drowned in sauce - would have liked bread to have been served with them. Octopus came with the same sauce as the mozzarella sticks and garlic prawns (and chicken Parma), so everything kind of tasted the same. The octopus had a weird slimy texture and felt undercooked. Steak was served with chips and salad and while the steak was good, at the price, I would have expected a sauce. Pasta bolognese was a bowl of meat sauce with a small amount of actual pasta. Generous with meat sauce yes, but it was supposed to be a pasta dish - not a meat dish with pasta as a side. Chicken Parma was acceptable. Barramundi was cooked well - it was a generous portion and tasted good. The accompaniments however let it down. I had half a plate covered in black sliced olives and huge clumps of anchovy not even mixed through. The other half was covered in barely cooked cherry tomatoes and under it all slices of potato. I can see where they were trying to go with this dish with the anchovy adding flavour, however there was sooo much of it and the olives that I avoided them as they were just too salty and overpowering. Overall a very disappointing meal at the price. Pub food is way better!

   I loved the ambiance of the restaurant, and the spaghetti vongole was outstanding. It's a very recommended place before or after movies.

   This is our family's go-to in Leichhardt. Great food and service and BYO wine to boot!

   Everything about Mario’s is good. My only suggestion would be to play more Italian music and louder!

   I never booked Marios Leichardt I tried book Marios pizza croydon where I have been dining for 30 years plus & google or open table pushed me to Leichardt booking meanwhile after driving to Marios Croydon they had no table booked for us but Mario put an extra table out the front to satisfy our problem & we enjoyed his food & hospitality as always

   The food and service here are great. They are famous for their pizzas but everything is good. Their GF pizzas are the best around!

    My favourite Italian, pizza and pasta restaurant in Leichhardt, family run and a great array of choices. Had the spaghetti Vongole when I last dined. Generous serving of pasta and vongole accompanied with a garlicky laced sauce. Superb! Have had their pizzas on many occasions and from my experience they serve the best pizza in Norton St. BYO and licensed. What's not to love?
