Welcome to Market Place Kitchen & Bar! We are a new Modern American Restaurant in the heart of Avon, CT. We celebrate and encourage local, organic and sustainably harvested food and spirits. The interior of our space is compiled of sustainable and local materials, utilizing beautiful 300 year old barn wood from the Gurski Farm in Brookfield, CT.

We look forward to you trying our inventive, seasonally inspired cuisine and cocktails. Eat sustainably, live well, and enjoy your experience at Marketplace!

The manager was phenomenal he was able to get us a new table after we were initially sat at tabletop with two strangers because they were so full, he went above and beyond and checked on us constantly. The food was great the service was fast and excellent. Great experience especially for Valentines Day.

We just had a very enjoyable Valentines Day dinner. Service was great, as usual, and our dinners were superb. My wife ordered a special salad with chicken and I had the Ahi Tuna. Both were brought out quickly, hot and the changes for my wife were perfect. The restaurant was very busy due to a Friday Valentines Day and yet, the wait and bar staff were as nice and pleasant as ever. We are frequent customers and the combination of personable staff, good food and great atmosphere will keep us coming back.

Great ambience and service. Food is consistently mediocre. It could be a knock out place if they would up the quality of the menu and food.

The food is always great. Live the atmosphere of the place. Only tiny minus, I had to ask for bread for the table and was not offered it at the beginning. Love the bread

The calamari app was pretty sparse…hardly any calamari and a lot of peppers. Entrees were good!

We dined on 1/4/25. Table was in front of open kitchen (more or less). It was very noisy and difficult to hear however the open concept was nice. Service was poor - no other way say it - even though we were in front of the kitchen. We were seated for more than 10 minutes before the server arrived. Drinks took another 10-15 minutes. Food order took close to 30-40 minutes. Only one follow up by the server on the food and that was before we even tasted the food. Desert process was smoother. Quality of food: I had higher expectations. Fish was over cooked. Burger was overcooked. Steak was under cooked. Poke bowl was good. Desert: Pot de Creme: Weird. Glob of Preserves surrounded by pudding. It did not work. Price: Relative to location was okay. Not over priced. Would we return: No. There are better restaurants within 10 miles.

Casual restaurant with a really cozy vibe. They handled the New Years' crowd masterfully-- service was quick, attentive and friendly (our server, Hannah was fantastic!). Food was delicious -- we had four different entrees and all were top notch. A little pricey for what you got (simple entree, no salad or bread), but that's the Farmington Valley for you!) Overall, I highly recommend.
