Market Place was opened in November 2011 in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork. John O Connor who has worked in the catering industry all his life opened Market Place. John is from Mitchelstown originally and studied Hotel & Catering Management in third level. Having worked in Hotels, Bars and Restaurants throughout Cork and Limerick for many years john decided to take the plunge and open his own Restaurant in his home town.

The Restaurant has gone from strength to strength since opening always offering something new and fresh to the locality. With a wide selection of fresh fish, vegetables and meats to cater for everybody’s tastes. We offer a wide range of Evening Specials along with Cocktails & Craft Beers.

Your always guaranteed of a great meal everytime you eat in the market place. Valentines night was lovely and relaxed. The food and service was top class. We must make an effort of eating there more often.

2 of the 8 party had fillet stake, one was perfect the other was dry and tasted like it was reheated , other than that the experience was lovely.

Nice seating area. Waiter was lovely. Poor vegetarian choice. Got potatoes and veg so over priced. The company I was in felt that food was cold .

Very friendly atmosphere, both the service staff and proprietor welcomed us. Service was prompt but not pushy, and food was excellent.

We have found a little gem! Beautiful atmosphere, food was incredible and service was excellent. Definitely a place to visit if nearby Wonderful, we will certainly be back Thankyou
