   The service was amazing and the menu was delicious. I had the lamb chops. I had the signature cocktail, Horse with no name and it was amazing.

   We had brunch at the Tavern and it was great. The Tavern is gorgeous. So much history. The menu is diverse and the food is delicious. Tammy was our server and she was friendly and took such good care of us. We will definitely return

   Just had an amazing experience at Mattei’s Tavern in Solvang! The ambiance was beautiful, and the service was top-notch. But let’s talk about the food WOW! The blueberry corn pancake was absolutely delicious, with the perfect balance of sweetness and texture. And the huevo ranchero? Not only was it plated to perfection, but the flavors were even better every bite was a delight. Love, love, love! Definitely coming back!

   Completely underwhelmed by this restaurant; almost everything we ordered was poorly executed. Having stayed and dined at other Auberge properties, we were excited upon entering. Ambience (dimly lit, roaring fires, etc) reminded us of previous Auberge experiences, and we had high expectations. Service was friendly and professional, but exceedingly slow given that restaurant was almost totally empty. Biggest problem was the food; everything we ordered was prepared poorly. Uni Toast was served soggy. Devils on Horseback were undercooked, enveloped in limp, fatty, undercooked bacon. Tuna Crudo was a disaster, grocery store quality tuna cut into irregular cubes (as opposed to sushi grade, thinly sliced crudo one would expect)—dish has no flavor, somewhat shocked to see it served in a restaurant. Chicken entree was severely overcooked and dry throughout—even the dark meat. Lamb chop entree consisted of two small, underwhelming chops, exceedingly fatty with unseasoned vegetables. Everything we ordered seemed to lack salt. Had heard good things about restaurant. Not sure if chef/staff has changed, but currently turning out very poor quality foods at high, resort prices.

   Charming local treasure Matteis listened to our requests! Since it’s opening, the awkward bartender walk out ( which also slowed down service ) and lack of basic ingredients ( cranberry juice!) issues have been addressed and improved! And most importantly, the menu has settled at delicious and reasonably priced. Cheers to Matteis!

   Jennica was fantastic! Start to finish she was superb. Three snacks were all terrific. Two starters and two entrees we all shared were impressive. Halibut was the only dish to disappoint it was favorable but sadly was overcooked therefore dry. Two desserts were awesome. Old fashion superb!!!! The entire support team were each impressive., personable and knowledgable. We’d return for sure!!!!

   Great dining experience from atmosphere to drinks, apps, dinner and dessert. Scott our server and staff worked as a team to keep our glasses filled and table prepped for each new course. All the food was delicious and served beautifully. This was our second visit the same day as we had a wonderful breakfast earlier. We’re only here for a long weekend but we’ll be back before we head home.
