Set at 738 York Street, in a building that was built in 1884 is McCollum’s on York. Our space is newly renovated. Chef Richard McCollum and team prepare their seasonal menu from our scratch kitchen. Ingredients are local as possible, and we use KY Proud products. Lounge opening in early 2025

            A smoked spicy brown-sugar pork belly, with maple glazed carrots.

                A herb roasted hen, polenta with roasted garlic saffron aioli.

                        Prix fixed menu for New Year’s Eve. $90. Food was not hot, and the filet was ordered med rare. Ir came out med well and not hot. (Butter on top never melted) Lobster ravioli was good but it had been sitting for a while before it came out bc the noodle edges were starting to dry out. There was a long gap in time Btwn the appetizer and the main entree (at least 40 minutes). Dessert was good but it came out while we were still eating main entree. I’m hoping these concerns are all start up issues that will iron out in time. I want this place to be successful!

                        We had a wonderful dinner ! The drinks, food , staff and atmosphere were all excellent! Congratulations on bringing this gem back to Newport! We wish you much success in 2025!

                        Four of us dined at McCollums tonight. The snapper, steak,chicken and short ribs were all delicious. The sides were plenty for us to share, and the desserts were the perfect ending to a wonderful night! The atmosphere on this restaurant is magical! We will be back😊

                        Wonderful atmosphere. Decorated wonderfully for the holidays. Staff is extremely friendly. Food is delicious. The owner even made an appearance to ask how our food and experience was so far. We will definitely be back.

                        Wonderful meal at McCollum’s on York! Service was excellent and the food was delish! Shout out to Judith, our server, and Genesis, the fantastic mixologist. I definitely recommend the Maple Old Fashioned!

                        Four of us had dinner at McCollum’s tonight, each ordering something different. Each meal was delicious! We also shared the crab and lobster appetizer and key lime pie for dessert. The atmosphere and service were fantastic! We look forward to next time. 😋

                        It’s a new restaurant so certainly there’s wrinkles still to be ironed out. We will check back again in a couple of months. The menu is pretty slim. My husband had the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection but did not have much in the way of seasoning also looks like it was cooked in a sous vide so it had a peculiar appearance which if you’re familiar with how things look when they come out of a sous vide you would understand. Maybe needed to put some grill marks on it. The gnocchi that came with the short ribs was not good at all. I very much enjoyed gnocchi and I had gnocchi many times that was not good gnocchi. There was no sauce on the short rib, so they were rather dry. Maybe overcooked a bit we had the corn pudding which also was very dry was not of the consistency, I would consider acorn pudding. They served mashed potatoes with the steak and the mashed potatoes were very good. They do not serve any type of bread with your meal. You have to purchase that The service was very slow hopefully they get that worked out. I think they did a beautiful job updating the restaurant. The front window was beautiful and I look forward to trying the restaurant again in the future.

                        We were really impressed with our experience. Our server was outstanding and each of the four of us really enjoyed our dinner. Fun cocktails, as well. The space has had a nice “refresh” from York St. Give it a try!
