Meat & Potatoes is a high end gastropub in downtown Pittsburgh. Its kitchen takes as its inspiration the idea of elevating comfort food to a gourmet level. Its chefs are inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients and its bar staff creates innovative cocktails and serves a range of wines by the glass and draught beers, as well. The menu at Meat & Potatoes is a new take on basic. There are classic appetizers like fried pickles, grilled bread and fried Brussels sprouts, as well as more innovative fare like fried pigs ear and buttermilk fried chicken liver. Meat & Potatoes mains include pot roast, salmon and lamb neck cassoulet.

Our Full Service catering takes care of every aspect of an event, working with you from the early planning stage, developing customized menus and pricing options. We have a great network of suppliers and venues that we'll rely on to pull the whole thing together. We are also an approved caterer in all of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust venues. It was our first time here and it was delicious! The service was great. If you like fish, I highly recommend the Salmon.

Filet and potato was cold. For a meal over $250 it was not very good value for party of two.

We always love coming here when we visit Pittsburgh. We met some friends who have never dined here before, so we were excited to share the experience. When our server arrived, we were immediately told what was no longer available (this was 7 pm, so not exactly the end of the evening dinner rush). I ordered a drink off the menu, but was told “oh I forgot to mention we don’t have that ingredient and will need to replace it with something more expensive which will up the price of your drink.” It took forever to get our drinks because our server was busy visiting with the table behind us. Another server finally brought them over. We ordered Parker house rolls which we bragged about, but it arrived as one small loaf. When I asked why they weren’t rolls, the server (again not our server because she was nowhere to be found) said “oh they decided to make it a loaf tonight.” It was not nearly as good. We ordered coconut cake, but we were served a pudding instead. They gave us the pudding for free and brought the correct dessert. My filet was outstanding but my husband’s burger was dry. Not a stellar experience for a $65 steak dinner.

The food was incredible and they took care of my partner and my allergies excellently. The beef carpaccio was divine and the filet was melting in my mouth and cooked perfectly. Definitely will visit again when we come back to Pittsburgh.

What a wonderful experience. Took family for their first time and what wonderful service we had. Our waiter was aware that we had tickets for 7:30 show and made every effort to get us served timely without losing that decadent feeling of being treated special. It will always be a too pick to go to for a meal.
