                                                Great experience! The redesigned space is comfortable and inviting, no small feat for a former church building. Food was exceptional - coconut soup, cucumber salad, tuna burger were all winners and the smashburger was perfection. Service was terrific too. Will definitely return.

                                                I love what they have done with the space. Much brighter and welcoming than the loud and sometimes uncomfortable Taft setup. Food was top notch. Spaghetti squash dish is very creative. Fries were insanely crispy. Nice torta take on fried chicken. My only issue is the portion size in a few cases . The size of the dip with crushed potato chips seemed unacceptable.

                                                Had a reservation, table wasn’t ready yet bc we were early, went to the bar. The bartenders there were great. Very nice & attentive. We moved to our table not long after & sat there for awhile before the waitress came by. Finally, we ordered(an app & our dinners bc we were afraid she wouldn’t come back for awhile again)…the chips & dip… let me just say Do.Not.Recommend. Don’t even try, believe me on this. We ordered the swordfish dinner & the chicken dinner; both were good. Drinks were just okay. They did have gluten free options, beer & food… which were good as well.

                                                Wanted to see the transformation after renovations from TAfts Ale House. Food was good but nothing to write home about. Service was great. Fairly good price points for being in OTR.

                                                Tafts Ale house was one of our favorite places. Mellotone is an improvement on TAH. More class. Great service. Noisy, but not so noisy that conversation is difficult. We will return!

                                                Very nice experience at Mellotone. There is a much different vibe from Taft's Ale House which used to occupy the space. Service was top notch as it was very attentive without being overbearing. Our server, Cam, was personable and knew her stuff, giving good recommendations and keeping up with anything we needed. There is a team effort to serve and clear tables, which was nice, as I hate sitting at a table with a bunch of dirty dishes. The food was very good. Pork Belly skewers for an appetizer was so tasty. Great taste and cooked to perfection. I had the grilled tuna sandwich, which was cooked perfect. Just a sear on the outside which complemented the rare tuna within. My only issue was the bread was a bit soft for the moist toppings of the sandwich so it got just a bit soggy. The bread had been toasted, but could have used a bit more time on the grill. I had the fries with the sandwich. Again, cooked so good. Crispy without being too hard. The the aioli sauce they serve with it was very good. My guest had the smash burger with a side of greens. Again, both very good. I know they are a new restaurant, but I hope they can keep up this level of quality. There is so much overpriced mediocre food out there that people just rave about. Mellotone is a notch above many other places in the area. It's a small menu, so maybe that helps them focus on quality. Whatever it is, both the service and food will definitely have me coming back.

                                                WOW! If you haven't gone yet, you must try out Mellotone. We had a reservation for my 52nd birthday - me, my husband, and my two teenage daughters. Everybody was happy with their food and experience. I'm a vegetarian and the butternut squash soup and spaghetti squash entree were to die for. I never knew spaghetti squash could taste so good! They did a nice job changing the decor and ambiance so it doesn't feel at all like Taft's Ale House, which was in the space prior to Mellotone. There's a comfortable main floor with dinner seating, an upper level beer garden, and a lower level bar called Undertone that can be reserved for private events. Mellotone is a great new addition to Cincinnati's restaurant scene.
