Keswick is one of the most scenic parts of the Lake District – which in itself is up there with the most scenic parts of the United Kingdom – and in the very heart of the town, you can find Merienda on the Main Street, whose food is about as beautiful as the surroundings. We offer wholesome, uncomplicated food in a homely ambience, and you can enjoy it any time of day, from a quality morning pick-me-up (We are serious about coffee and use quality Merienda's exclusive espresso blend from Darkhouse Coffee Roasters, Keswick) and hearty breakfast, to a range of delicious cakes and filling sandwiches, to a scintillating evening dinner menu accompanied by a range of fine wines and quality beers. Fresh, seasonal ingredients are the focus of a menu filled with British classics and dishes inspired from around the world – reserve a table and head on down.

Well cooked, generous portions, especially the amazing beef tacos, very attentive and pleasant service, somewhat limited menu, ok value for the Lake District. Didnt try the drinks. Would go back.

Excellent food, very well presented. Staff friendly and attentive but not overbearing. Menu looks limited at first glance but is excellent.

Had a fabulous meal, great portion sizes, very tasty and served piping hot. The servers were attentive and friendly. Prices really well too. We will definitely go back on our next visit

My only slight comment would be on the heated bench seat on the left at the back. It was comfortable to start with but as the evening went on it was quite warm. A nice idea for this time of year but maybe could be adjusted? Otherwise a very tasty and well presented meal with attentive staff.

The food was excellent however the only disappointment was that before we had chance to take our coats off, we were greeted with “we have doubled booked and need the table by xxx” . Everything felt rushed after that!
