                                                                Muy buen servicio, los tragos muy buenos !! La comida deliciosa , la carne muy jugosa con unas papas de otro mundo. Las enchiladas me parece que están un poco simples en el sabor , tal vez el pollo muy seco . Pero realmente el ambiente y todo son un 10.

                                                                We had a reservation and the place filled up quickly when a show at Bergen PAC got out. Our service was suuuuuuper slow. Chips and salsa - the chips were stale and tasteless and the salsa was more like enchilada sauce with a ton of heat. We ordered drinks that took about 15 mins to get. Our guacamole took about 20 and came out with our mains. We had to remind our server that we had ordered and didn’t get anything 25 mins after putting that order in. Everything was just slow and didn’t live up to the price tag.

                                                                Attendant waiter got us our food and drinks quickly as he knew we were going to a show. Great menu with twists on traditional Mexican.

                                                                We went there before a concert at the BergenPac as well as many other people going to the show and the restaurant was completely understaffed and the service was horrendous

                                                                If you're going to Mexcal prior to a show at Bergen PAC, I hope you 1. don't care about getting your drinks, and 2. don't care if you're late to the show. We had reservations before a show (that wasn't even close to sold out, so it wasn't like it was a ton of people), were sat right away, but then everything started going downhill from there. It took over 30 minutes to get our drinks. When we sat down and our drink orders were placed, it was only about half-full on our side of the restaurant. It filled up afterwards, but we had ordered our drinks before most of the people arrived. We did get our appetizer pretty quickly - it was the sampler (skip it) - and we ate all of it and were still sitting there before we saw our drinks. When the drinks did arrive, they were quite tasty and well made. The tacos had mixed reviews from the table, but I thought the pulpo and shrimp tacos were both flavorful. I am not normally bothered by noise level, but this place was really out of control. I couldn't hear the person next to me. Overall, the food was okay - nothing amazing, but not terrible. The drinks were tasty, but that doesn't matter if you get them with half the meal already over. It looks nice inside, but the noise level kills the ambience. I would not recommend pre-show, and would be reluctant to go back at any time.

                                                                We were attending a concert at Bergen PAC right next door to Mexcal so we were anxious to try the restaurant for the sheer convenience. I read the generally good reviews but there were some reviews that complained about service. Well, we had the best experience at Mexcal. It’s a more sophisticated restaurant than most Mexican places. Familiar fare is on the menu along with upscaled entrees that were reasonably priced as were their drinks. We enjoyed a glass of delicious, crisp Sauvignon blanc. Our server, Melisa was the sweetest. She was knowledgeable about the menu & helped us make great choices. I ordered the snapper entree which was exquisitely prepared & extremely flavorful. Highly recommend. Hubby had steak & shrimp fajitas freshly sautéed & colorfully prepared in a unique server keeping the tortilla warm. He thoroughly enjoyed his dinner. Melisa was kind enough to package and save our leftover dinners (which we’re looking forward to enjoying again) for us to retrieve after attending the concert next door. We’re looking forward to returning to Mexcal to try other entrees on the menu. Thank you for such a wonderful experience at your restaurant.
