    We booked the Mezzanine for a date but when we turned up they had the bar closed for an event (no message to let us know or alert when booking) Ended up sat downstairs where it was much noisier, and we were sat 1ft from a party of 7 who were celebrating so it ruined the vibe.

    The booking was moved to the lounge and the DJ would be there The lounge was actually the hotel lobby and there wasn't a DJ Food was half-cooked As I didn't experience Mezzanine I would like to go again to experience it

    The Stratford Hotel, Mezzanine hosted John Lewis Christmas event: table dressing, tree dressing & the fabulous John Lewis Stratford Personal Stylists - Debbie & Maxime - both beautifully dressed, presented. So professional, friendly, approachable. Passionate about achievable fashion for their customers. Every item from the John Lewis clothing rail, fab, wearable, all at John Lewis Stratford. Debbie & Maxime’s love of fashion and experience in helping John Lewis customers, showed in their expert advice in a relaxed, happy Christmas event. All credit to the Stratford Hotel; delicious mulled wine (not the usual gut-rot) and the hotel’s ’Signature’ canapés-they were equally delicious, above the standard fare. The Stratford Hotel really is a must-go-to hotel. The Stratford Hotel was buzzing with customers on the ground floor restaurant, bar area. 3rd visit to the Stratford Hotel, so impressed with their understanding of what customers want and they deliver it with expert hotel experience. It’s a fab hotel. We want to go to the Stratford Hotel for the Terrace winterland weekend with the live playing Toots Band! Thanks for a fab afternoon Stratford Hotel and John Lewis & Partners.

    There was an event on the day so it seemed all the attention of the staff was on that. Took 32 minutes for staff to come over to the table to offer drinks, 32minutes!!

    Unfortunately we did not get the chance to experience it as the venue was closed for a private event despite us making a reservation months in advance and confirming it the day prior. We had booked to stay in the hotel that night too as we we planning to be out for the duration it was opened. Disappointed

    Avoid. We came as a group of 3 for drinks and food here on a Friday night after a concert, arriving at 9.30pm there were only 2 other tables taken. After being given and looking at the menu we were told there was no food available other than pizza. The place was totally lacking in any kind of ambiance, it is basically a dark room with some tables and a bar. To be fair to the staff our initial order arrived quickly and the pizza was good… the bar filled up after 11pm when downstairs closed. It seemed to all be large groups (8-10) of males. When we tried to order a second bottle of champagne we were repeatedly ignored, possibly as there seemed to only be two staff to 25 tables. We gave up after 20 minutes but it still was impossible to get anyone to pay the £100 bill - eventually I went to the bar where I then declined to pay the service charge. The server told me that he did not know how to remove this and had to get help - which I waited to be done as I was so annoyed by this point. Really unclear why anyone would want to actually come here, it has zero redeeming features.

    Unfortunately they had a private party, so we could not enjoy the bar. Luckily after five minutes the front of house person was able to find us seating in the ground floor foyer area. We still had a lovely evening, as the music was good and the drinks were reasonable.
