A British restaurant and bar, Millie’s Lounge serves classic dishes alongside a selection of English sparkling wines, craft ales and seasonal cocktails.

From Monday to Saturday, you can enjoy traditional afternoon tea, set amidst the Grand Banking Hall. Enjoy cakes, scones and a selection of sandwiches with a choice of tea.

Please be advised that that Poultry Street is Entry only and Princes Street Exit only. Bookings can't be made for only drinks. Registered guide dogs only are permitted in public areas or restaurant of The Ned. Children are welcome in the restaurant with last booking at 6pm; seated up to 8pm. We will try to accommodate pushchairs where possible but please be aware there may not be space at the table. If you would like to request a highchair or for further information please contact the restaurant directly.

Please note The Ned reserves the right to refuse or cancel any reservation either ahead or upon arrival.

    Have been to afternoon tea at Ned on several occasions. The customer service has declined. There was no explanation of any of the sandwiches and cakes we were served. The tea was lukewarm and is now limited to 2 cups per person. We wasn’t told this initially, we only found out when we tried to order a top up of tea and were told we would be charged extra on top of the £50 per person. ( used to be £32). The service charge is added at 14.5% and in my opinion the service was not great. The manager did agree to give us a tea top up for free after we complained. Won’t be having afternoon tea here again.

    We had a wonderful meal at Millie’s! The steak was generously sized and perfectly flavorful, even without sauce. The fries could have been a bit crispier and saltier, but everything else was excellent. The white wine was fantastic and complemented the meal beautifully. It was quite busy, making it a bit hard to hear each other at times, but the ambient music created a great atmosphere. Overall, a great experience – definitely worth a visit!

    Overall very good, admittedly not just the fault of the Ned but in line with eating out generally, just very expensive compared to 5 years ago.

    Having breakfast here is a business-like and busy but still feels like a treat. The surroundings are fabulous. Generous portions and food as described on the menu (no Dukkah or crispy chilli type toppings here!).
