Moon Rabbit is a highly-regarded Vietnamese restaurant situated in the heart of Washington D.C., drawing inspiration from the virtuous rabbit depicted in the Buddhist Jataka tale. Led by acclaimed Chef Kevin Tien, the restaurant embodies an innovative approach to Vietnamese cuisine, showcasing a menu that is both unique and complex. Chef Tien's main objective is to pay tribute to his heritage as a first-generation Asian American, using Moon Rabbit as a platform for expressing his love for Vietnamese culture and food.

Enjoy a special tour of Vietnam guided by Chef Kevin and his team in celebration of The Year of the Snake! The multi-course menu has a focus on seasonal ingredients and creative dishes. Diners can expect a culinary journey that is both familiar and innovative. Our menu is offered at $85 per person. At the moment we are unable to accommodate soy, allium and nightshade allergies, please email info@dokidokihospitality.com before booking to confirm. A 20% service fee will be added to your bill, of which 100% is distributed to front of house non-management employees in the form of wages and benefits. Tips are distributed amongst all hourly employees who work throughout the day to create your dining experience.

we went for our anniversary and we did the chef’s experience, it was impeccable! we were blown away by the unique flavors and we would love to come back again to try other dishes. the cocktails were to die for!

First time at MoonRabbit to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We did the Tour of Vietnam and it was incredible! Perfect portions and timing of the courses. Service was outstanding. Loved the ambiance too. Very intimate without feeling crowded. Felt like you were in a beautiful row house. Can’t wait to go back!

Our food runner Isabel/Isobel was the highlight! Her table side manner, knowledge of the menu, and deep insights into EVERY dish’s ingredients was like nothing we’d ever previously experienced…and she’s a 21yo full time college student too!! We were just blown away by her + Chef Susan’s desserts that were OUTTA THIS WORLD. We brought renowned Los Angeles Chef Johnny Cirelle with us, who was floored throughout…we’ll be back :)

We both had the chef's tasting menu. They adjusted it to meet our respective tastes (one person preferred fish, the other red meat). The food was, in a word, spectacular; everything appetizers to the main course. And the service was impeccable. The nonalcoholic cocktails were unique (neither of us drink). We both agreed that it was the best meal and the best service we had had in ages. Although not inexpensive, well worth every dollar and more. I couldn't recommend Moon Rabbit more highly!!

We opted for the chef’s experience, and it truly exceeded our expectations. There were four of us in the group, and we all shared the same thought: “the next plate can’t possibly top the previous one, as it was just too delicious with its surprising flavors.” However, we were pleasantly surprised; each new dish turned out to be a breakthrough in taste. We jokingly anticipated that they might "fail" with the dessert, but we couldn’t have been more wrong! Funny enough, the drinks were for sure a 5star experience. Just SPECIAL. Overall, it was an excellent experience that offered outstanding value and service.

Fantastic food and fabulous staff. Highly recommend the new location of Moon Rabbit on F Street. There is an exquisite combination of flavors and textures on the Chef’s Tasting Menu. Every course was a new adventure. The staff is really terrific, whether you are asking your primary server or catch someone to ask a question. The entire team absolutely supports one another. There are three dining areas with one primary room slightly smaller and slightly quieter than the large dining space. I look forward to going back.
