Moro and Morito chef proprietors, Sam & Sam Clark, opened their third restaurant, located at 195 Hackney Road in 2016.

Morito Hackney Road's Head Chef, Sevan Tchivitdji, draws influences from Southern Spain, North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Morito has a concise offering of wines from the Mediterranean - primarily mainland Spain and Portugal - with a couple of lesser-known wines from the Canary Islands. There is a selection of sparkling, white, red, pink, and orange wines, with many available by the glass. For those looking to venture past these, there is also a list of Sherry and Vermouth.

Great food and lovely service. Good,lively ambience being able to see the chefs in action. High noise level the only slight negative.

No chipparones :(( The male waiter had an attitude problem & all of us noticed it. Prices are getting ridiculous now. Big shame was always my fave

Food was good, atmosphere was nice - some of the food we ordered didn’t arrive, so we had to arrange for it to be removed from the bill. Clearly very popular, we arrived 10 minutes early and were told to wait outside (where there were no tables) or stand awkwardly in the corner… but not at the bar - felt like an inconvenience a bit

We were quite disappointed with our visit. While searching for a good tapas place, we found this spot on Google. Booking a table was straightforward, though the £20 no-show charge felt a bit excessive. I had mentioned during the booking that it was a special occasion — both my birthday and wedding anniversary — but unfortunately, that was completely overlooked. When we arrived, we were welcomed and shown to our table, and we appreciated being able to change it. The original setup had tables uncomfortably close together — barely 10cm apart — which I personally find intrusive. We ordered four dishes in total, but only two were served within the first 60 minutes. After sitting for an hour and only having padron peppers, a staff member finally checked on us and realized the rest of our food had been forgotten. The remaining dishes arrived soon after but were lukewarm and dry, suggesting they had been sitting out. Overall, the experience felt neglected from start to finish. Between the missed special occasion, the long wait, and the quality of the food, I left feeling disappointed and won’t be returning or recommending it.

We loved this place, ordered a big selection to share as starters and then again as mains. Food came quickly, and was delivered as it became ready. Every dish was beautiful, and the service through was outstanding.

Lovely atmosphere, great menu, and fabulous food. lovely to sit at the bar/counter an enjoy a relaxed tapas style meal with fine wines and cocktails.
