   Our server was excellent... And the place is always a delight. I was surprised that they had a fixed menu..meaning that you paid for a full meal. You choose your entree, your salad or and desert. I was not expecting that...so I was surprised. I think it is a good idea but it is too much food for me.. Soup was superb as was the cake for dinner....But I was not excited by the chicken entree. I was dry hence I did not eat much of it. Everything else was excellent but the entree was a big part of the meal. I think chicken is hard to get right. Anyway, I think that I will do the bar menu next time. You can not sit in the main rooms but it will be better for my appetite and budget..

   We had a reservation at 7:30, we arrived on time and we still have to wait another 20 minutes for the table. Also I had notice, me and my partner are one of the few Asian costumers in the restaurant, and we had notice the service difference between us and the other costumers. The service we got was not worth it for 20 percent of tips that they automatically added to our bill.

   Mountain House is one of my absolute favorite restaurants! I would go far more often if Lyfts from HMB were more reliable because I do enjoy a cocktail with delicious meals.

   While waiting for table was a little awkward and delayed, the food was fantastic and exceeded expectations. Especially the bread. Will be going back, and not just for the forest views.

   Great dining experience! We had the Short Ribs & my wife had the venison. We sat in the indoor patio area and had a beautiful view of the redwoods during our early dinner. Indoors by the fireplace would be the preference for a later dinner. Such a beautiful restaurant!!!

   We had a wonderful experience at The Mountain House for our anniversary dinner. From start to finish, everything felt special and thoughtful. The service was excellent, warm, attentive, and genuinely celebratory. They acknowledged our anniversary with beautiful touches: complimentary appetizer bites to start, and a lovely dessert plate with “Happy Anniversary” written in chocolate, paired perfectly with our third course. To top it all off, the chef personally came out to wish us a happy anniversary, which made the evening feel even more intimate and special. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere cozy and charming, tucked into the redwoods, it felt like a romantic escape. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate. Highly recommend for a special occasion or date night!

    Overall, The Mountain House is a wonderful dining experience. We were seated in the Forest Room, and the view was absolutely mesmerizing, especially as the sun began to set. It added a magical touch to the evening. The food did not disappoint. We had the short rib and the chicken breast, and both were cooked to perfection, flavorful, tender, and beautifully presented. Parking can be a little tricky, but the staff were proactive and attentive. One of them reached out to help right away, which made the arrival smooth. Highly recommend this spot for a special night out, especially if you enjoy a cozy setting surrounded by nature.
