The Mountain View Chalet has been serving Hunterdon County for over 35 years. Our continental menu and daily specials offer an extensive array of selections, including appetizers, soups, salads, pasta, seafood, beef, veal, poultry and vegetarian dishes.

Consistently a great restaurant. The food from appetizers to dessert is delicious. I recommend their stuffed mushrooms,Filet Mignon and Jazzed Up Java ice cream particularly. The servers, particularly Manny, are efficient and friendly. My favorite in the area.

Parts of our dinner were very good. Our server was wonderful, my martini was great, and we thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers. Our steaks were not as enjoyable. My husband’s t-bone came out completely covered with mushrooms and onions while the menu said a side of onions and mushrooms this was way too much. Also the steak was swimming in some kind of liquid (possibly from the vegetables). I had the filet it was way too charred, also swimming in liquid, and was tough. We’ve eaten at the Chalet before but this dinner was disappointing.

We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your appetizers, martini, and service, but we're sorry to hear that your main course didn’t meet expectations. We take pride in the quality and taste of our steaks. Our steaks are always served with au jus, which is a flavorful broth made from the natural juices released by meat during cooking. It’s typically served on a steak to enhance the flavor and keep it moist. While our specials menu didn't specifically mention that the au jus, mushrooms and onions were served "on" the side, we try our best to be accommodating. If you’d like any of those served on the side in the future, please don’t hesitate to let your server know. We’d love to welcome you back for a meal that reflects the quality you’ve come to expect from us.

The Chalet never fails to deliver great good and outstanding value. The meals are always prepared flawlessly, and the food arrives hot and delicious. The service is warm and friendly. There are always a lot of great options on the special menu to choose from. In short, there's a reason the place is always packed! It's our go-to spot! See you again soon!

Apparently kitchen not prepared for crowd on New Years Eve. Took 1 hour from ordering to entree being served.

Robert, our staff is trained to time your courses so that your food is out in a timely manner and does not overlap, while having an enjoyable, relaxing dinner at the same time. We apologize for your disappointment and not meeting your expectations for that timeframe. Unfortunately, holidays do get very busy, so a slight wait time is expected in some instances, but please know that we will address this with our team, as an hour wait is not a reflection of the standard we hold ourselves to.
