   There must be something I missed because a $17 egg salad sandwich and vinegar drenched, pre-packaged potato salad cannot be it. What a disaster

   If you love corned beef sandwiches with chopped liver, head over to NY Deli News! Do you prefer a New York eye cream, stop in because it is amazing. From the wonderful service to the delicious food, you are going to love it. It doesn't matter if it is only you or a group, they love to make your experience amazing!

   The menu selection is a nice wide variety of breakfast and lunch options. The portions are very generous. Well-prepared.

   Have been for lunch many times and enjoyed the wonderful world-class sandwiches and fries. Great Reubens, pastrami and corned beef. Decided to go for a Sunday breakfast. Perhaps expectations were too high. I got scrambled eggs and corned beef hash thinking the hash had to be out of this world. Wife got the ham and cheese omelet. Scrambled eggs were fine, basic, but the corned beef hash was disappointing. Mostly potatoes, large discs like scalloped, with some chunks of corned beef worked in. The corned beef had pieces that were flavorful (good bark), but others were very fatty. Wife said omelet was good, a lot of ham, but very bland. She never uses salt but did here. My eggs were similar. Portions looked very big, but it was a lot of potatoes. We'll stick to lunch. Service was great. Our server has worked there over 35 years and hasn't missed a beat. Enjoyed her wit, conversation, and good service.

   I've dined at NYDN frequently since it opened, and I have had only two bad experiences. One was the most recent visit. When we arrived at 9:45am on a Sunday, the restaurant was nearly empty. Typically, our food arrives far more quickly than I ever expect. This time, it did not. I ordered the Challah French Toast which arrived lukewarm at best. I'm guessing it sat under the warming lights for a while. Later, after we had finished eating, our waitress stopped by the table, and I requested a container. For the next 20 minutes, I watched her take orders, serve meals, pour coffee, etc. When she brought the container, we asked for our check. She asked if we'd be paying by cash or credit card. Another 5 minutes or so went by until she returned with the hand-held device to take our credit card payment. I typically never tip less than 20%, but I was so upset by her overall unfriendly attitude and the 20-minute wait to get a take-away container, that I tipped only 10%. I needed a receipt, which she got from the front desk (2 steps from where we were sitting) and practically threw it on the table. Perhaps she is unaware that the word TIPS is an acronym for "to insure perfect service." As I said, I have enjoyed NYDN for many, many years, so this experience won't keep me from returning. I will, however, ask to be seated somewhere other than where she is working.

   Thank you for the feedback. We are reviewing all with the staff as to correct the many of the issues that you are describing. It is our focus to always do our best and execute all 100%. Mistakes definitely happened from what you're describing and please accept our apologies.

    We had a great dinner and wonderful service on the first night of Chanukah. The only thing we were not fond of was the mushroom barley soup-it was just too salty.
