   We had a great night. Delicious Japanese inspired bowl an then singing Abba with Hops and Harmony. I have been asked to organise again.

   It was a return visit. Unfortunately I wasn’t aware of the cyclone damage when I made the booking and even though they have done enough to function again I am hopeful they will restore the premises to at least the previous level of presentation. Don’t get me wrong, the staff and service were both delightful, the food delicious and I will go back again. Sitting there and observing the river activity and the busyness of the passing human traffic makes it a perfect location.

   I ordered the charcuterie board not realizing it was only meat, and yes it may have said that in the description but most people look at the word charcuterie and automatically think meat and cheese. When it arrived and we saw what was on it we ordered the cheese board but ended up wasting a fare bit of meat. Maybe it could be called something like a carnivore board (no offence intended) then less confusion. I personally think that sounds cute a carnivore board and a cheeseboard.

   We had the lamb Koftas which were vey good and a pizza which we really enjoyed. Staff are really friendly and the location is brilliant

   I had booked a table for 10 pax @ 7pm we arrived at about 7:05. One of my friends went to order only to be told the kitchen was closed. I was very confused as it clearly says kitchen open till 9. The staff at the counter went to talk to the kitchen after I had mentioned that we had a booking. She came out and said yes they will serve us because we had a booking. One of my Friends ordered then someone else went to order a pizza and we were told they weren’t doing pizzas. Which really doesn’t leave a lot of menu choices. It was handled extremely bad by the staff and there was clearly no one senior on. I was so embarrassed as I had booked for the 10 of us and we had to go find somewhere else to eat. So disappointed and utterly embarrassed.

   Our group of up to 20 members really enjoys our time together at Officers Mess once each month. Most also visit at other times. The position of Officers Mess on the Brisbane River is very special, great views over the grassed area to the river. We love how children are catered for with the special swing and lots of beanbags. We are amazed at how quickly and how effectively Officers Mess has recovered from the recent unexpected weather event. A great spot to enjoy beautiful views, good food, good company and welcoming atmosphere.

   We enjoyed eating outdoors in the evening with live music and all the trees all lit up made it all just so beautiful. We have never been disappointed with the food and service. Even though officers mess lost their roof recently, they have created a great outdoor area. It’s very versatile so you can either go casual with your fur baby or more smart casual - I highly recommend going.

    The officers mess is the perfect location for a relaxed lunch with family and friends. The pizzas are excellent. We will definitely be returning.
