A culinary celebration of California's coastal offerings, and a heartfelt tribute to the late Peter Orr. Founded by Sarah Orr and her mother Mary Ann Orr of Sunset Hospitality Group, Pete's Fish House embodies a deep-rooted passion for community and culinary excellence.

Named in honor of Sarah's father and mentor, this restaurant is more than just a dining experience—it's a reflection of cherished memories and Peter’s larger than life legacy. Sarah explains, "I have been looking for a way to honor him, and this feels like the right way to do that."

At Pete's Fish House, expect a menu that is inspired by the coastal waters and the bountiful local agriculture that Peter was deeply committed to, ensuring a true representation of our region's culinary heritage.

    Overall good experience. Food especially the pasta was fun and the tastes of everything a bit different and not main stream. We would highly recommend Pete's if you want a more unique dining experience. Not inexpensive for sure, but we will definitely go back soon.

    It is limited menu for my friend due to some allergies. That said she loved your Mussel dish, very good, a large order and the their preparation and presentation was top quality. I ordered oysters, they were fresh, but the preparation allowed the `liquor` inside the shell to drain off, I am used to fresh shucking and like the liquid to remain. I enjoyed my tempura crab sandwich, good quality. The crab prep was similar to a crab cake. We both like this place and will be back for dinner, the menu is larger and several dish listed that look good. Thank you.

    Absolutely exquisite. You should go before they get their Michelin star, will be hard to get reservations after that. This is not the typical California beachfront restaurant. It does have a terrific view and it is located on the edge of the ocean but everything else was so far above typical. There were four of us and we share so we tasted probably a third or more of the dinner menu. This chef knows how to treat fresh ingredients and layer flavors. While everything we tasted was so far above the average excellent restaurant, our favorite dishes last night were (in order of starters to mains): - * the Crudo, which melts in your mouth and is deliciously flavorful, - the persimmon butter and focaccia toast - the Wagyu Polish sausage (yes, I do not normally eat sausage and haven't in years, but this is homemade and so delicious, especially with the mustard sauce they make). -* the Porcini Agnolotti, wonderful layered rich comforting homemade deliciousness and the favorite of several of us along with the Crudo - the striped bass, which is a favorite of the only one of us that had been here before. Aside from the exquisite food, the restaurant decor is clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, efficient and not intrusive. The chef came out from the kitchen a few times to check on and talk with diners, it was obvious they all loved what they do, which is also unusual in restaurants these days. We would make Pete's Capitola the excuse to drive to Santa Cruz from the Bay Area again, as much as possible! You really really should go. It's unusual for a beachfront town like Capitola.

    Pete’s Capitola Pete’s is a relatively new restaurant in the premises previously occupied by Stockton Bridge. My wife and I ate there recently and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. It has a warm atmosphere with excellent service. We sat in a corner table near the entrance to the patio. The infrared heaters on the patio kept it warm -we may sit out there on another visit- and thus there was no cold air when the door was opened. The cuisine was superb! We started out with the Caesar salad and the Dungeness Crab Tempura served with preserved lemon and lobster cream. The Caesar salad was enough for two people to share and was delicious. It was loaded with 30 month aged Parmigiano Reggiano. The crab tempura was like a crabcake upgraded to a thin, delicate crust, encasing the tasty crab. For the entree I ordered the sautéed mussels in a white wine and fennel broth and tomato escabeche. The plump muscles were cooked perfectly, and the sauce was scrumptious. It was served with ciabatta toast points, which were perfect for dipping into the sauce. Yum! For wine we had the 2020 Bonterra”The McNab” Cabernet Sauvignon from Mendocino, California. My wife ordered the sole minière -3 large filets- served in a lemon, brown butter sauce with fine herbs. It was accompanied by velvety green beans. Once again, my wife loved that dish. To finish off the meal, we shared a French Cruller, made with a pate au choux, with espresso gelato, and whipped cream. It was the best “donut” that we ever had! As I mentioned, the service in the Restaurant appeared to be excellent and our server Riley was no exception. Give Pete’s a try!

    Always an excellent choice. Wild, hook+line caught, sustainable fish. Perfect combination of flavors in every dish. Don't miss the mussels and fries, and the clam pasta with a smoked clam sabayon - delish!

    Our first visit but will not be our last! Warm and welcoming staff and decor. The food was amazing!! From the Dungeness crab tempura and salmon rillets to the Caesar Salad, everything delicious AND beautifully plated. A must visit in Capitola
