   We had the nicest experience as a group of 5. Very good knowledge from our server on the food and amount we needed. Loved the croquette, brussels sprouts, and the gnocchi plus the s'mores dessert.

   Had to ask for a la carte pricing options. Seems to force folks to take the 3 course version.

   Hi Karyn: I'm so sorry that you had to ask for a-la-carte pricing options for your recent dinner. On Sunday nights, we offer a very popular 3-course special menu for $50 per person. Of course, we do offer a-la-carte pricing on sundays as well, and I apologize that our team did not make that more obvious when you asked. I hope we can have you back in on another occasion and in the style you prefer to order. Please accept my apologies and the great feedback that we will use with our team to help make our guests feel more at home on Sundays if they want to order a smaller number of dishes.    We visited Play Food & Wine based on the positive reviews here on OpenTable and on other platforms. The format of the service is shared plates, and we were recommended to order 5-6 dishes for 4 people. The size of the portions were moderate so we each got to sample some of each dish. The menu items were of good variety but heavy on protein. There was an abundance of flavours in each dish, some of them a bit overwhelming. Each dish seemed to have a theme (Moroccan, South Asian, Italian, etc.). Service was efficient and friendly. Wine by the bottle selection was extensive, but there was only about five choices by the glass for reds and for whites respectively. Overall not a bad choice.

   Delays with timing of ourselves and other guests. Initially we were seated promptly and got our order in quickly. Wine came quickly and servers were attentive in refilling glasses and explaining dishes. We ordered the fries (wonderful aioli!), raw fish entree (wonderful), braised beef croquette (a bit small for the price). Four appetizers was plenty, did not need the mains. The mains themselves (herb gnocchi, and pork tenderloin) had a lot going on but did not feel overall very cohesive or standout as compared to the starters. Would overall highly recommend more for wine and tapas!

   We give it a high recommendation for the varied menu of fresh and interesting dishes -- I had the endive salad -- and extensive wine list. I especially appreciate the staff's attention to the requests I had mentioned in my comment when reserving through OpenTable. So thoughtful. The waitress was attentive and cheerful. A lovely experience all around. We will return.

   The endive salad was delicious. Unfortunately, all three of us were disappointed with the confit tuna nicoise salad. Too much frisée, tuna was overcooked and red onions were not well grilled. Lovely service.

    We just loved everything here, very creative high quality cuisine. The service was exceptional and we had a delicious orange wine from Slovakia. We had the Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, trout, and the chocolate/popcorn mousse dessert. Can’t say enough about this spot!
