   We dine here often. Every time we’re in Carmel from SF. A must for us. Today we also had lunch outside. Always a pleasure. I must say the wait staff could be quicker once seated. Bringing water and a menu for lunch. Love PortaBella.

   Food was exceptional as was the service. The hummus and the salad were incredibly fresh and delicious. Would recommend it to anyone as a must go to when they’re in Carmel.

   This is a really cute place that’s perfect for a date or a cute gathering with family or friends. It’s centrally located and offers delicious food and a warm ambience. The pesto dip they serve with bread tastes delicious, and their mushroom truffle ravioli is heavenly good.

   First time for my husband and I. My only complaint was my food was only warm. It tasted really good. If it had been nice and hot it would have been a 5 star dinner. I would definitely go back.

   The strawberry lemonade is not good. Tasted like made by artificial powders and liquid . We asked 3 different waiters for water but everyone forgot to bring it. Finally the 4th one brought it after he heard I complained it to my friend.

    Saw the good reviews and thought we’d give it a try. Caveat, we are not foodies, though we eat out reasonably frequently. The service was good, ambience was good as well. It was a Tuesday evening, but the restaurant was pretty full. Unfortunately, for us, the food was not up to our expectations. We ordered mussels (one of our favorite dishes). They were huge, tough and rubbery. The broth looked good, but had very little flavor. We ordered salmon and tagliatelle bolognese. Both were very average. We cannot recommend this restaurant.
