   Superb tuna….wasabi mashed potatoes were an excellent accompaniment as were the sweet sugar snap peas. My husband cannot get enough of Chef Myles’ soups. The carrot ginger was perfect.

   What a pleasant surprise! Elegant, spotless setting, friendly, professional service, truly excellent food all around a table of five pretty critical people, and a wonderful value. I didn’t know it got this good in an Albuquerque, and I have lived here all my life.

   The food and service were excellent as always with the beautiful view of the Sandias, the golf course with it cottonwoods in the wind, the flowers and the water. We always come every time we are in ABQ.

   I've been to Prairie Star's Wine and Dine several times. While not all meals were perfect, they all had areas of brilliance. Last night's dinner was probably the best of them all. Usually my partner and I get different items so we can taste everything but we both had the smoked trout beignets. They were lovely but more reminiscent of hush puppies. They were crisp on the outside and tender on the inside! We both also ordered the striploin and were both happy we did. The portion was generous, the meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked to our specifications and it was served with a lovely burgundy demi-glace. Our dinner companions both had the gumbo and gave it high praise. They also had the striploin and were very happy with it. The chimichanga for dessert was decadent! My one note was that ours had only a smidge of berry compote. We are so thrilled to have such an affordable restaurant near us which we can depend on for exciting and delicious food. Kudos to Chef Myles!

   It was an anniversary dinner and a beautiful evening. The salads were good and then it got not ok. My husband ordered a steak that was 50% fat and had a heavy, sweeter glaze poured onto it. It was inedible So we spoke with the manager, she took away the plate and said she would talk to the kitchen. We never saw her again and didn't get any adjustment to our bill. Also our server was sweet and very young but had not had adaquate training. This was an expensive 3 course meal with no adjustment following our complaint concerning my husband's inedible meal. Sorry, we live close and would have loved adding this to places to dine - won't happen!

   Myles Lucero is probably the best Chef in the state. If you add stunning views and upbeat friendly service, your fine dining experience is complete.

   Jay…. What can I say.. he rocks! Quick on his feet, knows the wine and bar list in his sleep.. all staff is awesome. We will continue to come to experience new creations in the wed/thurs menu because it’s fun to try new foods!!

    The Staff were very nice and warm/friendly. They needed some polishing on the knowledge and delivery of their specials and menu items but all in all they did a good job. The food was good but lacked a bit of finesse and refinement. But you can’t beat the view on a warm Saturday evening as the sunsets on the Sandias!! With some work Prairie Star has the ability to regain its place as a top notch restaurant but it will need a little polish.
